I am pretty much speechless over this. This is the ONE album I would magically wish into existence if I could, because I was sure the chances of it being pressed were zero. I have never been so happy about a round piece of plastic in my life.

According to Norman at ION Records, this is a 2xLP in a gatefold sleeve. Also there's bonus tracks from some Cobra Strike records. (Which I don't really get, but whatever.) Limited to 1000.

That's the wrong ION Records. I made the same mistake too. I found the right ION's Facebook, (correct, it hasn't been used since '11), but it had a link to Norman's other business page, which was active very recently. That's who I emailed.

I just asked for some more details, and told him I was stoked on it. People are buzzing about it on the .tk and buckethead-coop, one guy even said he'd seen these sold on eBay before, but I checked popsike, and there's no record of this ever being sold, so I think he's mistaken.
 
Also, about the Axiology press that started this thread: Travis has voiced some concerns about doing that album, as it's too long for a single LP, and he can't shell out for a 2xLP yet. He does sound semi-optimistic about something vinyl-related coming down the pipe soon. Stay tuned about that.

The amazon seller is ION Records, who own the rights to this album, so my guess is it's legit. I messaged Norman from ION on Facebook about further details, awaiting reply.

You certainly have a shitload of lps at your back and hence , assumingly, the record-cleaning expertise.
I am eager to learn but, please, hopefully the right way does not involve going it with more than two brushes....cos I'm not uop to it.

Yes to all this. I can truly appreciate White Pony, but I feel it's not their absolute best.
And Palms is my favorite out of his side projects. I've talked to many fans and they disagree and hate Palms, which I really don't...understand.

Every day when I get home from work I check the mailbox expecting to find the greatest mix of love songs ever crafted. Instead, all I've found is heartbreak and loneliness.

Back in 2013, Travis mentioned that CD sales had been down a lot, and the store was taking a hit as a result. So a bunch of people on buckethead.tk organized a day where everybody agreed to pick something up to help him out. I remember one dude decided to buy literally 1 of everything in the store, ended up spending like $600. I picked up a handful of CD's and this poster. I sent Travis some good words, and he signed it for me. Great dude.
 
 
 
Anyways, if you want this Thanatopsis pressing to happen, you should register an account on TDRS forums, vote in the poll he's got up there, and tell him you're interested. He's never done vinyl before, but I know he'll make it happen if people are serious about buying it. Go, go, go!
