  1. Curious on your thoughts with the Record Doctor VI after using it for the first time. I've watched some reviews and it seems nice enough for the price point. I'm curious on general 'best practices' while using it as well. When cleaning, do you rotate the record in one direction or both? Do you do any sort of 'rinsing' process with distilled water to remove any residual cleaning solution? Are the overall results worth the cost in your opinion? I'm debating between this, the Pro-Ject VC-E, or just start low and go with a Spin Clean.
  2. That's awesome! Yeah agreed about Morgan, but it seems like Kaela holds it down pretty well too. I've watched live vids from the Junk tour and she seems great (especially with her on vocal duty for that song from the Oblivion soundtrack). This quote from Anthony in the press release really makes me want to see them live again too - "I wanted this record to be very impactful live," he says. "The idea was to come back with something closer to the energy of Before The Dawn Heals Us. The combination of guitars and synths is always in my music, but it’s maybe more present on this new record than on the previous ones." Exciting stuff!
  3. Can't wait to hear this. Always regretted skipping seeing them during the Junk tour, but saw them for the HUWD tour and loved it. Hopefully I can make it out to one of the shows this time.
  4. The YouTube video and press release also mention slight changes to songs (extra bars at the end of Seven Nation Army, extra misc studio noise at the beginning/end of other songs, etc.). While it doesn't seem like it will be much different, there will still be some little things that differentiate it, beside the mono mix. I haven't grabbed a vault release in a few years but this is tempting. I wish I had that Icky Thump mono mix too.
  5. That's good to know. I was thinking there was a chance the water tension / friction could potentially keep it within the grooves as it drains. Thanks! I noticed that when looking at the Pro-Ject VC-E on Amazon too. The seller is listed as Turntable Lab. It looks like the same sale is happening directly on TTL's website until 12/31/22. Might make the jump for that.
  6. I've been debating on getting a record cleaning machine for a few years now. I'd really like to have one, but unsure of what route to take. That Humminguru is intriguing. I'm worried about the center labels getting wet with those upright machines though (along with the Spin Clean). I'd like to get a vaccuum cleaner like the Okki Nokki or one of the Pro-Ject VC series, but they seem big and boxy. I'd be curious to see if anyone else has experience with these or other cleaning methods. I really appreciate threads like these!
  7. Does anyone know if there is a plan to repress the John Williams Home Alone Soundtrack at some point? I have a friend who is considering paying a lot for a copy and figured I'd try to steer them towards being patient and waiting for a repress haha
  8. If anyone is interested, I have a copy of the white SRC Subscription numbered variant that I wouldn't be opposed to letting go for the right offer. Let me know.
  9. Love the shirt discussion. My favorites have been Next Level 60/40 shirts (code # N6210 according to the blanks I buy on Amazon). It seems like Bella Canvas shirts have slightly looser necks by default and stretch out easier. I like a well-fitted neck haha. Tultex has weird shapes sometimes too. Haven't bought a shirt printed on American Apparel in like a decade+ for some reason. Surprisingly, I also really like Gildan ultra cotton longsleeve shirts too. I have multiple blanks of black and sport grey that I wear pretty often. I remember in the mid-late 00's seeing bands splurge for printing on American Apparel instead of (most often cheaper) Gildan and just thinking those AA shirts were the greatest thing ever haha. I still remember the first one I bought was a Blood Brothers shirt in 2005 and I wore it all the time because it was so comfortable. Someone should make a separate thread for shirt collections haha. I still have the majority of shirts I bought through the years (mostly Milwaukee/Midwest hardcore bands from the 00's). Some of them were really cool that I wish still fit.
  10. How's the sound quality on the LP? I've been debating grabbing a copy. I saw a comment on Discogs that it was pressed at RTI but haven't seen much else mentioned in that regard.
  11. Ah ok. Interesting that the listing on the band's official webstore has the full 14 tracks, but the tracklist on Matador only has 10 tracks. Both must be errors for the vinyl description. I suppose it makes sense to be the standard 11 track listing similar to the original pressing.
  12. So the 14-song tracklist is 60 minutes. Do we think they're going to squeeze that onto one disc?
  13. I definitely want a copy. Do I pre-order now or wait until pressing reviews come out...
  14. Excited to hear the studio versions of those b-sides. When I saw them they played Ocean of Darkness and it was awesome. Hopefully they get released digitally. I don't think I need that box taking up shelf space at this point (unless the vinyl sounds amazing and it doesn't have quality control issues).
  15. I still have a sealed copy of the 1st press of this album and haven't decided on if I want to sell it or keep it. I haven't listened to this album in like 15 years at this point but I absolutely loved it and the Back To The Beat EP when I was in middle school.
  16. Excited for this. Maybe I'll preorder but not sure yet. The tour date in my town was rescheduled to a day I'll be at a wedding
  17. Definitely interested in hearing the final product. Looks like the vinyl is set for release in "early 2023," however if you look at the CD, it says the release date is 9/16/22. I wonder if the strings session in May is for a final couple songs or whatever (considering one song is done already).
  18. I think I'm going to hold off on buying anything until the sound quality reviews come out. Assuming there will be US vs EU presses.
  19. Good to know. Looks like I bought it in 2012, according to the paypal receipt in my email. Thanks for that info!
  20. I have a copy of (what I think is) the first press of IATM that's still sealed. Is this new press really only the third pressing?
  21. Thanks for the review on the new Saturdays press. I was very interested in it because of the color, but if the sound isn't comparable to the original press, then it's a pass for me. I'll stick with my original!
  22. No, that's the eleventh pressing according to Discogs. The pics of that one look sweet though. Mine is more normal opaque marble style that's like aqua green with some black and white wisps. Discogs doesn't have any pics of it for some reason.
  23. I have a copy of the sixth press aqua green swirl marble if anyone wants it. IMO the best color variant of this album up this point. This one includes The Ballad of Sal Villanueva and doesn't include the demo disc you know you'd only spin like once and never touch again haha. Edit: Gone.
  24. This is cool! I'm interested to hear these first 3 EPs when they're released. I'm also very interested to see what they do with songs on the later albums (particularly Digital Ash).
