PO: The Black Keys - Delta Kream
wiscodeman replied to Justinadamk's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
EDIT: Removed youtube link to the first single. Didn't realize it was OP's post. Anyway, who did it better? lol -
I received my copy from MD today. No issues with the mailer. The jacket is all good. The discs rings were in their slots correctly too. Considering myself lucky. If a ring displaced it could cause issues quick because of no inner sleeves, just small slots for each disc inside the gatefold. I gave it a spin too. There's no way to tell what is side A/B on the discs, so after I set them on the table I dropped the needle on each disc ring to confirm all were side A first. Only had to flip over the outer ring. Only sound quality issues to note is track 5 (middle disc, side B ) had popping/crackling throughout. Hopefully it's just a quality control issue and isn't common for other copies. Also, track 3 (inner disc, side A) ends with over a minute of silence before hitting the runout groove. Not sure what the point of that was. Overall, cool novelty record to own but super inconvenient to listen to haha.

Is Do The Romp different than Do The Rump on their first album? -

Looking forward to hearing this. I hope it's in the same vein as what they did on Chulahoma. That's one of my fav Black Keys releases. As an aside, it's such a bummer that Richard Swift passed away because I'd love more material from The Arcs. I doubt that ever happens without him. -
That Juturna variant is niceee. I love when the record colors complement the artwork.

PO (9/22): Fleet Foxes - Shore
wiscodeman replied to JRHews's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
I received a shipping notification for the VMP variant today as well. -
I don't recall if I tried to get this the first time around, but this thread was trip during all that haha. I saw GJ on that Coloring Book tour when their encore was the EP played in full and workers handed it out for free to everyone after. I remember they used Andrew Dice Clay standup as the house music between bands lol. Fun times.

Interesting. I didn't realize there was a misprint issue out there until you mentioned it. If VMP was to return them because of that label issue, do you think the manufacturer would just trash the discs or would they try to pull the bad labels and reapply correct ones? -

Received an update email from VMP. Not surprised. Anyone get anything else regarding the other variants? -
The Third Man Records Thread

This release makes me hopeful to maybe eventually see a release of his Lolla Aftershow at the Metro in 2018. It would be awesome to have that as a live album since I was actually there. At this point in my collection, his Live at Bonnaroo 2014 vault package is the only other live album I own of a show I actually attended. This package looks sick though and remember being insanely jealous of that setlist after it happened.- 4,699 replies

PO Now: Caspian - On Circles (1/24/2020)

Anyone know what the shipping cost is for a shirt? I kinda want that camo one lol -
I just looked it up (I have a "receipts" folder in my email for most of my online purchases through the years) and I got the OG copy in August 2012 on eBay for $30 w/ free shipping. I was able to grab a red lightdisc at a local shop on RSD in 2011 as well. I probably would've grabbed one of the Mondo reissues but forgot about the on-sale until it was too late. Oh well!

What's the VMP stock looking like now? I want it but would need to rejoin.. I'm afraid I'll lose the gamble of waiting for it to open up for non-members. -

Apologies if this has been asked already, but when will the VMP be open to non-members? -

PO: Andy Hull - Who Is Your Humble / Born Of You

Has anyone else noticed that in the promo pic of the album, the spine says "where is your humble?" -
Clearly it's meant to be an over-the-top. It's just a super catchy song with a fun beat and ridiculous one-liners (the BIG MAC TRUCK line followed by a semi horn got me to actually LOL). It also serves as an homage to the OG raunchy female rappers (e.g. Lil Kim, Trina, etc.) that I'm sure Cardi and Megan draw inspiration from for their whole shtick. I don't even think it has the raunchiest lyrics of female rapper songs that have been Top 40 hits. Go listen/read along to Khia's My Neck My Back which was a hit in the early 00's. I remember being in middle school during this time and my older sister listening to Trina and shit and just thinking like jesus this stuff is explicit haha.

Have you ordered anything from Loma Vista or Favorite Gentlemen records lately? They could have a warehouse or something located there bc my friend got the new Margo Price album (on Loma Vista) mailed from there recently and I got Right Away, Great Captain's The Lost Sea (Favorite Gentlemen) from the same location. I think FG is an imprint of LV though so that may explain it.
