  1. Funny I sat in line for 13 hours to get this and then had the chance to buy this morning from my own bed....at least I had fun chatting in line and scored other stuff....still curious to see what the pressing was on these as it seems waaaay more than 1000
  2. Even after all the RSD purchases I just had to get it...thanks for the heads up on the drop otherwise I would have forgot.... Now where is that Omen release? HAHAHA! Boy this really is an addiction!
  3. Mine was $129.99 at Amoeba SF .... so damn busy I haven't opened yet but better check for a test press....
  4. I got a chance to hear the stream but some weisenheimer grabbed all the copies at Amoeba to pass out to friends I guess....amazingly first in line and I didnt get it but thats OK considering the haul I was able to score....my collection just got a wee bit bigger....I dig this and will probably look for a copy down the line since I dont see it online anywhere....completely spaced on the bullmoose releases due to hockey playoffs...woooooops
  5. Quite the fun up here people watching the bars but I'm sitting in my wheelchair looking like a homeless guy...the employees are still inside shuffling things around....parked in front and plenty of snacks... Hopefully they have a paranorman copy....but all I'm really here for is jaco cake and some grateful dead...damn bull moose video has me wanting more though...
  6. In line at Amoeba sf....first! I know its overkill but I had nothing else to do...come on down if u want to chat...they only have two cake box sets so I'm good...now to kill 12 hours....game of thrones time!!
  7. Its like Xmas to me....besides being able to get some new music to listen to and expand my collection, I get the chance to kill time chatting about music in line! Last year by 6am a group had formed and we were so busy discussing music time flew by! None of my friends or coworkers are into music so I enjoy it and enjoy the excitement leading up to it. I remember camping out for concert tix and movie tix and it was always about the experience and the fun we would have in line while waiting!
  8. I wish I could do that but bigger city stores have longer lines...this reminds me of being a kid and camping out for movie tickets or concert tickets...its the one time a year I can really relax....I got the email from cake but just don't want to chance it. The unfortunate part is having to wait and listen to a few folk who are just there to turn to eBay with their purchases....I understand the supply/demand of it but for us true collectors it can make things challenging! I was hoping for this last record store day since the lines are shorter on black Friday but oh well.....that day I didn't see anyone else in line until 6am but then it became a impromptu breakfast run and 4 hour discussion on music....time flew by
  9. I'm lining up at least 12 hours early. Got a few movies to watch on my phone and by then folks will be in line. If you want it you gotta wait in line sometimes...I won't line up for much but rsd gets me sitting in the cold waiting for the stuff I want. I don't mind paying a little more for some stuff but 400 percent is too much...plus I'm getting a vacation day that night so it will be like getting paid to sit there instead of working...so ya
  10. Well there is a huge price difference between the stereo version on amazon and mono version elsewhere with burrell. Thanks for the info and I'm glad I found this thread...I love my metal and rap and techno but nothing beats a vinyl jazz recording....it always is so nice to just be able to close your eyes while listening to these recordings and feel like the artists are right in front of you
  11. Live at Montreux. U can hear the crowd booing since they were waiting to hear somebody else...its amazing. Just check YouTube for a bunch....last I checked they had a few full shows on there...
  12. My only hope is someone reviews the 33 vs 45 sets when they can...I have been waiting for this set since it was announced back in 2012 and dont mind spending the extra on the 45 set if it is that much different....my table has the speed controller and the only problem would be having to turn the records over every few songs ... 12 lps vs 6 lps but I will be right in front of the speakers with it cranked and doing nothing but listening

  14. As usual I read lots of debates over the reissue versions....anyone have input? 200gram vs 180 gram...stereo vs mono? Im waiting to pick up a copy with some gift cards and looking to see what other listeners like....Im leaning towards stereo but just thought I would ask....either way Im sure its going to sound stellar but figured it was worth a post....oh and thanks for sharing....I havent heard this album in years and with now that I have the proper setup for vinyl I figured it was worth buying a new copy since I cant find my old version from high school anywhere....thanks!
  15. elusive disc has 10% off right now plus free shipping and it seems to apply to this set.... just not for the 45rpm pre order which I shall wait for... really expensive for both but he is in my top 5 of all time favorites so this is a must buy!
  16. SL9-383 That was insane....fingers crossed it goes thru....took 1.5 hours in a car on wifi with a rainstorm.... Phew...... I must be a zombieholic and vinyl nut......
  17. I preordered on amazon in january when it was at $23 and still have yet to see anything.... other sites listing as release on 4/1 .... might as well keep the order since its doubled in price but interested to see what arrives....
  18. If you find somewhere lmk...maybe the last record store in napa/sonoma? I am always tempted to go up there but worry they may not have the full selection of stuff..... I know there is also vinyl solution in san mateo but not sure on their stock..... Rasputin and amoeba in berkeley and 1234 go records in oakland..... If you know anything else send me a PM .... Im down to hang in line! HAHA! BF RSD I was in line somewhere around 3am and first....next guy showed up at 4am and then folk started to filter after 6am.... Was it worth it .... yes... and I met some cool folk but the first few hours I just watched tv on my phone..... It can be an adventure I suppose and I will go this year just for the Cake set....otherwise not much else on my list....
  19. Thanks for the heads up! Last time this seller had a few up they were gone quick! Been on the fence but finally pulled the trigger..woohoo!
