  1. What a shitty day. I hate to admit it, but Garlfield totally called it about Mondays
  2. What if we just don't like Jared Kushner as a person, and not because he definitely has a vagina?
  3. Serious suggestion: I know you said post-2000 but you might get a kick out of shit like Archers of Loaf, 764-HERO, Silkworm, and Beat Happening. Id throw in The Microphones/Mount Eerie but Phil's a bit more on the depressing side, especially his latest album. But if you dig Pedro the Lion you're probably going to like Mount Eerie.
  4. Kind of an interesting take. I've definitely been guilty of this but never considered her perspective.
  5. I guess you mentioned you don't have a record store nearby in another post, so that makes a bit more sense. Personally, I don't really care for buying used online either. I've gotten screwed on eBay and Discogs a couple of times and so unless it's something really specific that I absolutely need right this second (gifts or I'll probably forget I want this album in a couple days), I just browse record stores hoping to get lucky and occasaionally buy from the users in the forums I feel like I can trust. It can get tedious this way, I've been looking for Mudhoney - 5 Dollar Bob's Mock Cooter Stew in the wild going on like 6 years now. But when it does finally happen, it'll be pretty satisfying. If you're only going new you're severely limiting yourself though. If you're looking for real high quality pressings I could suggest like the Original Master Tapes pressing of Grateful Dead - American Beauty. But I'd be surprised if that wasn't OOP. And a quick look at Discogs shows the only mint sealed copy going for $125.
  6. Okay I'll bite, what do you have against preowned albums?
  7. Hey guys, I hadn't seen anyone talking about this on the forum. I got an email from DeadFormat admin saying they're going to be shutting down the site. I know the forums have been pretty dead there the last couple of years, but it has been a great site for cataloging inventory. Those of you have been keeping your inventory on DF, where are you going to go? Personally, I find Discogs too tedious and Google Docs a bit dull, so I don't know where I'll go.
  8. I'll be there for Sunday. I've only visited Chicago once before and it was only for like an hour on a road trip somewhere else. Any recommendations for good vegan restaurants?
  9. Anyone know if the Crate & Barrel clearance is in-store too?
  10. In my preps for Riot Fest I totally forgot they were releasing a new album. Hopefully that doesn't mean a new album heavy set list
  11. My initial reaction on hearing this was concern that they would be taking down the Burzum albums. But they're not, right? I'm pretty sure I heard he wasn't a fascist anymore.. I don't remember..
  12. Nice, picked up Earth - Primitive & Deadly and the Electric Funeral collection, as well as a bunch of cheap CDs.
  13. For real, I've been digging on Hunx and His Punks for a while now. Too Young To Be In Love is a pretty sweet album. Garage rock + too much soy = hardcore
  14. Same post high-five double-win!
  15. Its a little unfortunate so many of these Sub Pop bands went and skipped labels so much in the 90s because I would love to snag a box set treatment for Afghan Whigs. Same for Screaming Trees and Mudhoney.
  16. Could be worst, you could be playing mp3s which never degrade because of use
  17. I had this album when I was in 2nd grade. Probably just going to leave it there.
  18. Yep, thats just the leader of the free world hanging out with nothing better to do than publically shame female journalists. Seriously, what a time to be alive
