  1. Test Pressings mailed in the first round of orders have included:

    Dead Bars "Dream Gig"

Ghost Mice "Europe" (totally randomly this went to someone who ordered a GM shirt too... that's some neat fate for you!)

    CW & Ship Thieves "Canyons"

This Bike Is A Pipe Bomb "Three Way Tie..."

    Tubers "Anachronous"

While we don't take requests for what goes in "Grab Bags", you can always email a separate "want list" for anything you are seeking to: orders [at] noidearecords [dot] com and we will help you if we can. (Like older pressings on odd colors, tests, posters, etc. We can sometimes help you with replacement jackets if you dropped your record or whatnot.)

Nice try with the overseas comment. You'll still get shit for it despite being completely transparent.

Absolutely. For the record, I have NEVER had anyone take me up on the FedEx option. Not once. I have only ONCE had anyone take me up on the option I offer below:

*** NOTE TO OVERSEAS HUMANSOverseas postage costs a fortune, either way it crosses the Atlantic. If you get together with a couple friends, you may well be able to have 3-4 sets shipped together via FedEx for a massive savings. (If interested in this option, please write to: [email protected]) As well, if you place an order and ASK in the NOTES section: we can make sure to leave out any heavier records (gatefolds, etc) and we may be able to knock a pound or two off the rate. We would then issue a refund for the difference. As well, any time your box exceeds 4 pounds, it leaps from FCMI to PRIORITY and adds a lot of $$. Nothing else we can do to help. It's the same shipping from OVERSEAS to the USA... £££

Get FIVE mystery LP's for a mere $35.00!

This is a fun, random selection chosen, well, randomly, of five 12" records from 4AD, Jagjaguwar, Drag City, Thrill Jockey, Joyful Noise, Katorga Works, Don Giovanni, & Captured Tracks! Bands include Sebadoh, Red House Painters, Bonnie Prince Billy, Grimes, Bon Iver, Merchandise, Liima, Thou/The Body, Ty Segall, The Soft Moon, Tune-Yards, & many more!

    • Five fully-packaged 12" records!

    • IF YOU ORDER MORE THAN ONE SET, WE'LL SEND A DIFFERENT ASSORTMENT OF RECORDS!

  4. To the lovers and the haters, thanks for taking two walls worth of shelves and reducing them to a mere 18" of space on a single shelf! This was a one-time occurrence, not to be repeated. Thank you for playing a part. The assortment varied as the titles evaporated, one by one. Records came and went. Big ones, little ones, and all things in between!

"This is a CRAZY grab bag box of 35 different 7" records, pulled from all the various records and labels on our site. You're going to get a nutty assortment of stuff, from big bands you know to complete unknowns. Japanese imports, fancy reissues, crappy photocopied covers from the 90's, the works.

There are even some records (Gems? Clutter?) that were forgotten and found, not listed for years.

THIS IS RANDOM. You get absolutely no input on what you receive. It should be fun... and it's SUPER CHEAP!"

  5. Trivia:

-- These can weight 6.5 to 7 pounds. That nixes FCMI for overseas. *

-- There are likely no repeats from previous grab bags, or only the occasional repeat.

    * If you are that concerned / interested, get together with a couple friends. Order a few grab bags. Ask us to ship via Fed Ex. That will save $ and we can refund the difference. (Not sure how they are with customs fees.)

... or just wait and they will all sell out and you won't have to worry about it ;)

Would buy most likely. I don't need any more The Bomb records though. Solid, but only need one.

Any future Grab Bags would be a completely different assortment with a low percentage of No Idea releases (one or two per bag, tops).

If canvas LP bags were cheap to print, I'd literally put them all in a bag!

-- I think I will also research listing a new option for overseas shipping if people wanted to join with friends and order together. Then we could ship 5-to-10 Grab Bags in one box via FedEx. It would risk a higher customs duty, but would be a fraction of the shipping cost, overall. Thoughts?--

I didn't grab one, but I like that they are giving out a lot of Small Brown Bike's 'The River Bed'.  Solid album.

Pretty much everyone got SBB and TBIAPB. There's a story there. When SBB played at the Hardback for the first time, the band playing before them was TBIAPB. It was the "bike" show... and TBIAPB played forever. Late night jams... late night jams...

My 7" test press just came in........

    Ampere/Ringers split 6"

It also says "(Off-center)" and the spindle hole looks a little wide right.

No sure if that's a mispress for the test run /just this record or if they would have to reject the plates.

This record had three rounds of tests. The first two were the 33 rpm 6" version. The third was the 45 rpm 7" version. The first was off center, the second centered. The full runs were centered.

FYI: I'm the one filling these orders. I have about 20 more shipping out today, Friday, and should have all 100 mailed out by Wednesday. Who knew it was so much work, working? I'm again' it!

PS: I will trade some of my collectible records for an iPhone 6 or 7 (as long as its not broken or stolen).

LOL man I really struck out on this batch.

I got one cool/decent LP (California X - Nights in the Dark) but the other 9 are whiffs for me:

    • Asshole Parade - Student Ghetto Violence
    • Dean Dirg - Dean Dirg
    • St. Dad - St. Dad
    • Holopaw - dunno the name of the LP*
    • Fiya - Better Days
    • Small Brown Bike - The River Bed*
    • Basement Benders - Lydiad
    • The Charming Snakes - Self Titled
    • The Bomb - The Challengers

Asterisks denote LPs that I thought weren't that bad but just aren't my favorite genre.

Oh well. Thus is the risk of the grab bag game.

You just took a dump on 5 of my favorite records, haha, and $20,000 worth of investment! Life is pain!!

Mike Park posted that Asian Man is moving distributors due to No Idea closing their distribution arm, so this may be a great way to move out some of that inventory at a great price to fans.

I've never not found something I enjoyed from a No Idea grab bag as they've got such a massive catalog to send from.

    This is correct.

To clarify: the label is still a label. You can still mailorder and / or order stuff for your distro. Instead of thousands of titles, it will soon be a couple hundred.

The distro: we ran it for 20 years and that's a long time. It was a huge success and achieved far more than we originally envisioned, as well as fostering other people's labels, businesses, and even a fest! We provided health care. We did it all. Now we want to focus on the label (and other interests).

10 LPs + larger mailer box = 6 pounds. That's the weight I put in the listing. No padding for fees as it's a flat-deal. If it's $60 for overseas shipping, I suspect that splitting will be $30 each. There would be extra labor (time), extra tape, and an extra box ($1.50), so we would have to add $5 for that... so you would be right back at $60.

It would be WAY BETTER for overseas friends to pool their orders together and write us. We can ship 90 records to Europe pretty cheap via other delivery companies. But then you have to be motivated and have a bunch of friends who are equally motivated. Or maybe you run a distro? You can still order a bunch of grab bags.
