  1. Hey, that's the guy that was first in line this year when I went to RSD!
  2. Leave them all behind as a gift. Repurchase new copies of everything once you're settled in to your new pad two blocks away. Easy peasy.
  3. I've got a question about a point that gets brought up a lot with these Newbury Comics pressings: how can people think they're over-priced, and then complain that they should be limited to less than five per customer? If they're really that over-priced, wouldn't the record buying population reflect that and mean that a low per-customer limit is meaningless since there wouldn't be much demand for the release? Conversely, if they're selling like hot cakes and people are grabbing them five at a time, wouldn't that mean the price is fair? Don't get me wrong, I'm not defending NC in anyway way, in fact I've been very vocal against these represses on other threads, I just don't see how these two complains can co-exist...
  4. If these had come out on April 19th, people would still have TTL on auto-reload looking for restocks. They come out two weeks later and suddenly it's lame to like bands from the 90s... ?!
  5. Looking at their past releases, it seems that their first two albums were released on vinyl and there's still some demand for them, especially the self-titled debut. I'm the last person who'd be defending jam bands, but if there's a market for these and they do a nice job with the reissues (and I must admit, the colored versions look really nice), I don't find any problem with this existing.
  6. I agree with stl_ben, I don't think this will be under three figures on eBay anytime soon.
  7. Seriously. Only slightly ahead of Isn't Anything/Loveless, reissued from the same fine folks...
  8. Am I the only one who thinks - generally speaking - UK shops and labels ship their stuff in the absolute worst way possible? I think Europe is bad in general, but the UK takes the cake - they're the only ones who constantly use those awful thin brown mailers for singles and LPs, sometimes without even a piece of cardboard inside for support. And even when they do use cardboard mailers or fillers, it seems like it's a kind unique to that island which almost collapses upon itself like an accordion with barely a touch. I swear I've left one of those sitting empty on a counter after getting something mailed to me and within a week it had disintegrated under its own weight. When I order from over there, I pretty much bite my lip and set the expectation that corners will be dinged to hell, at least one seam will be split and at least a few creases will be present on the sleeve. I just keep my fingers crossed the vinyl doesn't get warped - or worse, broken.
  9. Pardon my ignorance on this, but why does Amazon list it as a preorder with a May 27 release date when clearly this has been released and people on this message board have posted photographs of it?
  10. I think the logical next step for Third Man is to release a record with a built in arm/needle that plays itself. Where else can you go from here?
  11. I only ordered the Meatbodies and was in the same boat - black vinyl. I was really hoping I would get the colored vinyl. I was also a little disappointed they shipped this in a plain bubble mailer, not a cardboard mailer. There was hardboard inside to prevent the vinyl from warping, but all the corners of the sleeve got dinged up pretty bad. Would have just picked it up locally had I known. I probably won't order from them again in the future...
  12. I don't think it's as hard to find as that one place would like you to believe. Most of the UK shops that put their inventory online today had it (and many still do). I think a lot of US shops still have it kicking around, as well.
  13. Has the mere term "Ghostbusters" become the new "Rare" on eBay? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Mae-Destination-Beautiful-GLOW-IN-THE-DARK-500-RSD-ghostbusters-LCD-OOP-Vinyl-/261462336388
  14. So I think we have an official winner for worst RSD prices direct from a real record store: http://www.therecordshopltd.co.uk/product-category/cd-vinyl/collectable/ £120.00 (approx. $200) for Soundgarden? £50.00 ($84) for Ghostbusters?? £45.00 ($75) for Dresden Dolls??? Sure, the stuff's in stock, but at those prices that's not very surprising. Why not just got to eBay..?
  15. TTL has always been awful about packing. I stopped ordering vinyl from them ages ago for that very reason.
  16. I don't know, I feel like I've heard equally or more far fetched claims about lesser bands. I guess it's all opinion...
  17. Would it have been too logical to allow Vault members to order the live 45 online? I mean, I know the point of RSD is to get people in stores, but this particular release doesn't really fit the bill since you could only but it in one specific store, anyway, and it's not like they need much help getting a line out the door like some second-hand record shops. Also, they could have kept it limited to existing Vault members so there wouldn't be a mad rush to sign up just for this single. Like a little "member surprise." I guess that would have made too many people happy...
