  1. Trust me that's the plan. Saving up for a Technics SL1600. Hoping it will greatly improve the sound I'm getting from my records!
  2. Ok, I'll quit over thinking it and just enjoy FM radio more than I normally would, haha. Thanks fellas!
  3. Can you tell in the video I posted? I'd say like...30%. How do I shut off the preamp on the turntable? All I see is a switch on the back to switch from line in to phono. I have it set to phono. I will start looking into preamps and research them. Thanks for all the help with this.
  4. Maybe that's what it is. I have never owned a preamp and im new to having a vintage receiver. I plan on getting a 70s Technics SL 1600 soon, would that dismiss my need for a preamp? Thanks vinyl addict.
  5. Haha I had the volume all the way up on the ipod. If you could hear the difference in person you'd know what I mean with this. It's quite a big difference.
  6. Hmm.. If that's the case why doesn't my ipodipod plugged into auxiliary sound like the FM channel does?
  7. I switched the turntable from line in to phono and plugged it into the phono input and it's still a bit quieter than FM. I'll upload a link to a youtube video I took of it and a pic of the back of the receiver. Thank you guys a ton for helping me. Want to get this beauty sounding great!
  8. Yeah, ive had it hooked up to a newer $150 Sony receiver for a couple years. The TT works well.
  9. I bought it off eBay, fully serviced. I have my ipod playing into Tape 1 and my turntable into Tape 2 and both sound clear now, but much much quieter and not nearly as full sounding as FM radio. Hope I didn't get burned..
  10. Is that right though? White is left and red is right? I tried doing that and the sound was terrible for some reason, very muffled. I just got this receiver and it sounds fantasticccc when it's on FM radio, but when I plugged in my phone with the auxiliary it sounded awful. Can't understand why.
  11. First off, thank you. I'm a newbie to stereo equipment and am unsure how to connect an Audio Technica LP60 to a Marantz 2235B. The TT has red and white RCA output cables while the receiver has left and right inputs for the phono channel (both black). Same goes for trying to hook up my ipod via AUX. I searched google but everyone is hooking up old turntables to new stereos, not the opposite. Thank you!!!
