On a Maren related note, been listening to the Highwomen lately, and I'm really enjoying it. Great voices.

Just finished spinning my copy and it sounds really good. Nice and clean with virtually no surface noise. Splatter looks great. The little obi-esque strip on top is a nice little add on too!

Went to both opening nights. She switches out the two acoustic songs before the Midnights era. Second night she did this is me trying & State of Grace. Amazing set. Just wanted more Speak Now really

Bringing this back from the dead as there’s a new colored box set coming as well as represses for all the albums individually…. Including ANTI! 
 
I actually found a copy of ANTI sitting on the shelves at my Target tonight (they have a red variant exclusive) and they let me buy it! I did an unboxing (nothing more humbling than trying to figure out how to make a TikTok) and it seems almost identical to the original…

Regina Spektor is set to release a limited-edition boxed set of her beloved self-released debut album 11:11 in celebration of its 20th anniversary, due on August 26.
The special box set includes a remastered vinyl edition of 11:11, 2LP collection of live performances entitled Papa's Bootlegs, including never-before-heard or released songs from the 11:11 era—recorded by Regina's father—a full-color lyric booklet with liner notes, reproductions of original fliers, art, doodles and photos. The album cover for Papa’s Bootlegs was hand drawn by Spektor’s friend Seth Avett of The Avett Brothers.
“For years, I was relieved that this little record, made with friends while at university, got lost to time. It felt more like an old yearbook photo than something to be shared,” says Spektor.
She explains, “When I listened for the first time in almost 20 years, I realized how special it was to have this snapshot of my younger self and of a time that’s now completely gone. I had very little from this era, but my dad remembered that he had recorded all my earliest shows and shared those camcorder videos with me.”
“I discovered dozens of songs I had completely forgotten about. As I listened, I was surprised that instead of cringing, I was filled with gratitude. I finally got to thank that young girl for spending so much of her time working on art and for setting me on a lifelong path of songwriting and music making.”

EDIT: They aren't even posting a tracklist? If this was all tracks from the first two records I'd buy it in a heartbeat but their unwillingness to share details tells me it definitely isn't.

I had the last one in the store in my hands but ended up giving it to this girl who was inconsolably in tears when the shop owner told her they were all gone. I overheard the conversation & just broke my heart. The girl is the same age as my niece & reminded me immensely of her. It was obvious she’s more hardcore Swiftie than I & not a flipper. She started crying even more when I gave her the 7”. 
 
I believe in karma. So there’s my good deed for the year. 😉
