You should use a cleaning solution.  Trying to use an RCM without the cleaning fluid is going to do little to nothing.

That said, a bottle of cleaning fluid is going to go a very long way.  You just need to apply  a small amount to spread into the grooves.

Here in the good ole USA we have OCEANS.  Seas are for communists and olive pickers.

It's always difficult when LP jacket seams separate.

The important thing to remember is that even though they are separating, it is not your fault and your LP jacket seams will always love you.

The speaker recommendations are particularly bad.  receiver/amp list is pretty nonsensical too

particularly with an older record or one that is otherwise dirtier than average, you're just going to make things worse with a non-vacuum cleaning.
Your best bet might be to find a record shop that has a vacuum machine and see if they will clean it for you for a few bucks (maybe along with a larger purchase).

drying your record with a cloth isn't going to do much other than deposit fibers (or micro fibers) while leaving behind most of the gunk after the cleaning solution evaporates.

never cared very much about extra content.  I'll shell out a few dollars more for a steelbook + digital copy, but that's about it.

Just ordered the Best Buy steelbook version of Star Wars and Hateful Eight.  Threw in a Watchman steelbook for an extra $7.

The whole illegal immigration thing seems like such a smoke-screen issue.

If your job is in danger of being taken by an uneducated, non-english speaker, a fence isn't going to solve your problems. If people were really worried about it, they would go after the employers using defacto slave labor.

It's just a convenient scapegoat to avoid addressing the real job issues in the US.

The reality is that efficiencies put us in a place where it takes fewer people to produce all the stuff and services that all the people need. People cling to full time employment for various reasons, but health insurance is a big one. Decouple healthcare services from employment and see what happens. You may find that the free market solves the problem by eroding the 40 hour work week.

I always wonder if companies who "can no longer offer health insurance because of ACA" are passing the savings on to their employees.
The company I work for (a large health insurance company) pays about $385 per single employee on our group plan. I would expect that number to be higher for a smaller non-health insurance company. If a company simply stops offering coverage, the right thing to do would be to pass their saving on to the employee to offset their new burden, but I think a lot of places just pocket it.

it will fix a number of potential problems.

    1)  Those speakers are rear-ported.  That usually means that you will get better bass performance if there is space between the rear of the speaker and any surface behind them (generally ~1 foot or more is ideal).

    2)  You have a thing that turns vibrations into a sound signal (turntable) basically sitting on top of a thing that takes that sound signal and turns it into vibrations (speakers).  Moving the speakers onto stands, it will ensure that they aren't interfering with the turntable.

bonus issue:  not sure how happy the sprout is going to be wedged between books long term.  It might overheat.
