  1. It's out of print, but we happen to have a used DVD in stock. It just came in and who knows when we will see it again. Good luck.
  2. Thanks for mentioning that. We just started boxing up the pre-orders. We will ship them to arrive at everybody's houses on Tuesday. We will have a few left over. I know that people will be looking for them. We will make an announcement on @bullmoosevinyl on Twitter if/when we put those up for online sales. Thanks!
  3. The 7" has been pushed back again. It supposedly is still coming but we don't have a firm release date yet. One assumes that it will be timed to help promote the album. Sorry we don't know more at this time.
  4. We are being told that they are trying for 12/16 now. No changes in prices at this time.
  5. We are taking a break from shipping outside the US. We found that there were just way too much fraud and lost packages. We probably will try again at some point. The black will be available everywhere later, so it's unlikely that there will be problems with it either. ORG is handling all the details for us. They do a nice job, if you're not familiar with them. Thanks for asking.
  6. It seems strange. We announced it so early to make a better guess about how many to make. There will be more announcements this week with even longer lead times. All will be pretty limited pressings, but maybe we can make sure people don't have to fight over copies.
  7. That message means our system thinks it is in print but we think we're going to have trouble getting our hands on it. Often, that's OK, but probably not in this case. That's a good guess. It was updated in August. I checked this morning b/c orders have been coming in, most likely from this thread. Universal shows it as an active title, so who knows what's up. We won't charge anybody unless we can get them. Let's hope that it's a quiet repressing and that those orders will be filled.
  8. Just a quick FYI, we have stopped preorders for the three colors that will be available to us. We didn't want to sell more than we thought we could get. Apologies to those who didn't hear about this in time to get one.
  9. Based on when these arrived here the 10/14 date seems more likely. 10/21 was the last we heard. We will look into it and get them to the folks who preordered them on the official date, whatever it turns out to be.
  10. Thanks very much. We cut off the red a little earlier than we cut off the yellow, so hopefully we will have enough for everyone. Thanks for the nice comment about the website too.
  11. Just an update for you all. We just stopped accepting pre-orders for the red variant. We still have the clear one up. We will open up the red one if we have extras when it is released. Thanks to everyone who pointed out that we don't charge cards until right before we ship. That's important.
  12. Sorry, we don't ship outside the US at this time. I know it stinks for people from Canada and I'm sorry about that.
  13. Me too. Here's the deal. As you know, there will be only 900, assuming that there are no pressing problems. I assume that this run will sell out immediately and the label need to be able to spread them fairly between all stores that want them for their customers. I'm not sure if we have too many yellow preorders yet, but the way things are going, we probably will soon. Black seems to be fine so far. If all you care about is the music, order the black. Chris
  14. It counts towards the $25 free shipping. We ship as things come available, so you'll get your RSD stuff now and we will ship everything else as it comes in or is released (pre-orders.)
  15. We changed the way the popular sale pages are built, so we don't expect the problems we had on Cyber Monday. People have been hovering all day and it's been OK so far. I guess we will know in a few minutes. We do have some. The page was turned off. I just fixed it Thanks for the heads up! http://www.bullmoose.com/p/16264235
  16. Just a tip, our remaining RSD stock will go on sale at noon EDT today. That's in about 15 minutes. I put that Scott Pilgrim note up there a few minutes ago b/c I found a distributor that had some left. We will restock the RSD titles we can so hopefully people will get lucky later this week if we don't come through today. We also are going to discount certain pre-orders today through Wednesday. Those pre-orders count towards the $25 free shipping threshhold even though they will ship after the RSD stuff. That sale is active now, but we are still adding titles to it. Have at it!
  17. Can I ask a favor from everyone? We need your help in dealing with the eBay scumbags. All those pre-orders you see violate eBay's TOS. Pre-sales are prohibited unless the seller can guarantee that he/she can ship the item. We all know that is untrue. We would love to see what happens if a bunch of people report those items. Here's how to report them. 1. Log in 2. Find the item 3. Scroll down and click on "Report item" on the right. 4. Select Listing Practices/Inappropriate Seller Terms/Presale 5. Click send report They can relist everything tomorrow, but if they get enough complaints, maybe eBay will ding them. It's also possible that some flippers will decide it isn't worth it. Thanks in advance to everyone who helps out. Maybe we can get eBay to wake up! Also, just to keep you up to speed on a couple other things, we figured out how to get contact info on some of these sellers. Several stores were permanently banned this week. Stores that operate near individuals with a large number of pre orders have been notified who to watch for. I think I will get to meet one of them in person tomorrow. Thanks, Chris
  18. I'll move over into possibly too much info. Once again Varese Sarabande's RSD titles were mastered by Steve Massie and pressed by Erika Records. They generally do a nice job. The most notable difference between this pressing of Odessey & Oracle and Varese Sarabande's CD is that the CD used a mono mix of "This Will Be Our Year." The LP is stereo all the way through. The mono mix on the CD contains horn overdubs that are not on the LP. Without the horns, you can hear a little more of the soft organ near the end. Disclaimer: I'm a little reluctant to get too specific about the mastering differences because I am currently using the phono circuit of my old Proton receiver instead of a dedicated phono stage. It introduces some distortion and noise. However, the difference between the LP and the CD is what you kind of expect. The LP is warmer while the CD is crisper. The LP is a lot more "in your face" than the CD, which suggests that a reasonable amount of compression was applied. It certainly isn't brickwalled; I'd say it was a tasteful artistic choice made by an experienced engineer. Whatever Massie did brings out the vocal in a way that some people will like. They are a different listening experience - both satisfying, just different. It's a pretty reserved album anyway, so Massie's approach will definitely be preferred by some listeners. For those who aren't familiar with Odessey & Oracle, it is an essential purchase for fans of 60s British Psych. If you love Sgt. Pepper, Piper at The Gates of Dawn, and Are You Experienced?, this music belongs in your collection. People who like this stuff should also keep their eyes out for the other Zombies title, which has a bit more of a Britsh Invasion sound. The Yardbirds Little Games also is being reissued (stereo, if I remember correctly.) The Idle Race (Jeff Lynne) sounds way more like The Zombies than ELO. July is darker psych from '67 or '68. There also is a Rough Guide to Psychedelic Bolivia and one other international psych comp whose name I forget. A harder title to find will be Yardbirds/Sounds I Heard, which contains outtakes and live stuff. It's all taken from the Glipmses box set from 2012, so if you have that, the only reasons you need this are if you are a Yardbirds completist or wodl prefer to have them on vinyl.
  19. It used to drive me nuts, but after doing everything we can think of doing, I have learned to put it in perspective. Only considering the official releases, somewhere around 900,000 thousand records will be released in the U.S. Only a few tenths of a percent of those records will be resold at an unreasonable price. As I am sure many of you know, most of those records will be available at reasonable prices on record stores' websites a few days after RSD.
  20. In addition to the two titles other people mentioned, Resonance Records is releasing two at 10 inches by West Montgomery and a record by Charles Lloyd. All three are totally unreleased. Jack Bruce might be playing jazz these days. I don't really know. Also the soundtrack to the Pink Panther is technically jazz.
  21. Hey,. Thanks very much. I already received a few review copies and that the stuff I see is just fantastic. The Taang! box that someone mentioned is just fantastic. All 10 of those singles have paper sleeves inside the picture sleeves. There's also a great book with lots of photos that people who were part of the punk scene in Boston in the 80s and 90s will recognize. There's a picture of The Rat, The Channel, the Middle East upstairs and maybe The Causeway; I am not sure about that. Anyway, it's a great great piece. Everything about it is done right. It even has a CD of all the music. I'm going to give it a lot of time in my video because I think that people who collect records but won't buy it because they're not into hardcore will really enjoy seeing it.Same goes for The Folk Box. Again, people who aren't into the 60s folk revival might not buy it but they will admire how well it was done. The cover has a wood veneer laminate. The book is awesome and replicates the look of the notes that were included in folk and blues albums back then. It's a real work of art.
  22. We're just kidding, of course. We wouldn't charge anybody's credit card. Actually, if someone really wanted to give us $10 million, we'd figure out a way to get it, even if we had to pay $9.9 million to get it!
  23. Just an FYI, Oracular Spectacular always was a $22.98 list price. I just checked the original sales info we received from Sony in 2008 and it doesn't say anything about it being 180 gram vinyl. That makes me suspect it was 120 gram, which makes sense for an artist's first release at the very beginning of the "vinyl resurgance." I think the 180 gram vinyl is worth the extra $2, at least to those who don't own it yet.
  24. I put the price list here. Just remember that they are suggested list prices so some stores will charge more or less than this. Nobody is supposed to charge way more than these prices but a little extra might be OK.
  25. I guess it's all how you look at it. Last week while walking my dog in the woods at sunrise right after a snowstorm, I was amazed by how lucky I am to live in a such a beautiful place. That's the right attitude. We definitely are going big tent here. We want to build the habit but we also want to honor how much One Direction fans love that band. They really are loyal fans and we all know how special we feel when we get a rare record or other piece of memorabilia. They might outgrow 1D some day them just like we outgrew some of the artists we liked when we were younger. They might not bother to redownload their digital files when they get a new phone, but I bet that they will hang onto those records. And of course, when they are ready for something else, they will know where to go.
