Man ANOTHER drummer change? that said, song is good & the new(? def not the last drummer i remember seeing in the band when i was supposed to see them winter of 2022) drummer rips on it! Probably gonna wait till the whole thing is out before buying because "Fruit Town" didnt really connect with me on a whole.  But I am excited to hear it!

I hadn't seen this posted here yet and this is a HUGE fucking deal to me personally. So I just had to share it.

Abilene was a CRIMINALLY unrated post-Hoover band. They almost never get named checked like the likes of June Of 44, Regulator Watts or The Crownhate Ruin but were amazing in their own right. They straddled that line between early post rock/math rock stylings and post hardcore. They released one album as a 3 piece and later added  former Hoover bandmate Fred Erskine on trumpet for their 2nd full length.

This set combines both of their full lengths, which have never been released on vinyl previously, and a 3rd disc of rarities stuff. There are shirt bundles, etc available as well. And if you have ever bought anything done by Landland, you already know the quality will be top notch.

For anyone not familiar with the band...

This is a passion project for Dan over at Landland and has been in the works for years. So happy this is finally happening!

  4. I shit bricks when I saw this on instagram yesterday. I am hoping for some sort of discography since I am a herb and never got their stuff pre-the vinyl boom. But I will honestly buy whatever it is.

I always talked about these guys like they were Canada's Fugazi. Bands like Blake, The Plan, Okara, etc. all probably wouldnt have existed if not for them. I always loved that Shotmaker is way closer to early emo/screamo/emocore (think like Indian Summer, Sleepytime Trio, etc.) than like DC styled post hardcore though (obviously discounting Hoover) and that explains alot about elements that would pop up in Canadian bands that came after.

Clearly, i am over excited for whatever this ends up being & I dont normally have an instance to go on about this band haha.

The label that will release Cheval De Frise on vinyl has also released Hey!Tonal on double LP.

Didn't know the band but after listening I also ordered it. I'm sure some some people here will also like it!

This label is really killing it with the math rock they're releasing!

*prays for them to release the Lynx discography of vinyl*

  6. Don't know if this has been posted here prior

    https://muaaahrecords.bandcamp.com/album/volta-do-mar-at-the-speed-of-light-or-day

Volta Do Mar's "At The Speed Of Light Or Day" got a vinyl press. Sans a few tracks. The run is 300. It's bandcamp Friday so thought I'd throw it up. I talked to one of the guys in Volta Do Mar to see if they will have copies to sell in the USA and it was confirmed that they are going to get some but werent sure when.

Thought I would post this here.

Cheval De Frise's self titled album is being pressed on vinyl for the first time. It was originally released in 2000 and it's an excellent math rock album

It's being released by Computer Students. I didn't know the label but I like what they're doing. Very clean style.

edit: I’m dumb, totally forgot about all the Envy stuff. I should know this, they’re one of my favorite bands 😂

Same here for Envy.  I guess mentally i always thought Envy got their in with TR because they are obviously more post rock-ish now and they have Mogwai & EITS. My chronology is probably off though. haha.  Like i completely forgot they were the ones to release that Moss Icon discography. But I'm stoked they labels like TR and Numero are getting into releasing this kind of stuff more and more.  At least it seems that way to me.

Didn't know if to create a new thread or just post it here since it's hardcore/punk adjacent. And I'm beyond excited about it.

Falling Forward - Let These Days Pass: The Complete Anthology 1991-1995

Let These Days Pass: The Complete Anthology 1991-1995

Formed in Louisville, KY in 1991, Falling Forward was a band made up of childhood friends Benjamin Clark, Gary Bell, Jonathan Mobley, Ben Lord, and Chris Higdon. Started in their early teens, the band released a handful of recordings on a few different labels (Noble Recordings, Initial Records, and Doghouse Records) before disbanding in 1995. Higdon, Mobley, and Lord would immediately regroup as the renowned atmospheric post-hardcore band, Elliott. Falling Forward’s entire catalog has remained unavailable in any format for over 20 years. Let These Days Pass: The Complete Anthology 1991-1995 documents the entire recorded history of a young band who met in their pre-teens, wore their hearts on their collective sleeves, and incidentally inspired and influenced thousands of kids and dozens of bands (most notably Thursday) across the world with their unique union of chunky, metallic riffs, pop-punk-inspired hooks, and startlingly infectious, Sunny Day Real Estate-inspired melodicism. Restored and remastered from the original master tapes by Alan Douches at West West Side Music (The Promise Ring, Converge), Let These Days Pass is packaged in all-new artwork culled from elements of the band’s history, and includes a 20-page full-color booklet of rare and unpublished photos, fliers, and lyrics.

YES! came here to post it and glad its already up here. Kind of stoked on TR getting into more hardcore stuff lately. Kicked my ass for missing out on Lincoln. Did not make the mistake with this though.

Feel like this is probably ok to share since there's quite literally no way to buy it/give them money for it instead at the moment https://mega.nz/folder/np0VkZSI#_deI_dMP2R9439sV6a40GA

    Lineage: THORENS TD 209 --> 2M Bronze --> NAD Stereo 3045 --> Focusrite Scarlet 6i6 --> Audacity (recording) --> iZotope RX 9 (de-click & noise removal) --> Audacity (label tracks)

HEY! thanks for this! I, like many others, missed out on this and with no bandcamp, etc. this will be cool to hear.

That's what a friend told me who claims he's heard the whole album. Unless there's another super long song and he got them mixed up.

Vinny (drummer of Gospel) just confirmed with me a couple mins ago that "The Magic Volume Of Dark Matter" is NOT on The Loser. Matt Messina who runs Sunken Temple Records (and played in the pre-Gospel band Helen Of Troy) will be releasing it as its own 12 jointly with another label. But without going back and listening to our interview with him, I do not know the name of that other label. So it's just another super long song thats gonna be on the LP which is awesome IMO. Glad I could help again with some band confirmed info.

Here's a link to a live version of magic volume to anyone who hasnt heard it...

TTT is recording a new LP.  I believe Evan was posting stuff on IG awhile ago. Doesnt look like Kinsella is involved though. Which bums me out alot. The studio footage that was shown had Jared from Hidden Hospitals (and previous one of the like hundred versions of Damiera that Evan also played in) playing drums in studio. Jared is awesome at drumming but idk. Kinsella just plays differently on the kit and comes up with interesting things as a result. Things that like, i personally value in T/T/T. But hey we will see what happens with it though. I'm kind of a Matt Frank fanboy myself. So im probably in regardless.

Hoping they did a proper recording of that 23 minute song The Magic Volume Of Dark Matter

Had Vinny on the podcast I cohost. He confirmed they do have a studio recording of magic volume, but it will not be on this full length. They are planning on releasing that separately. At least that was what he told us when we spoke to him earlier this year. I guess it couldve changed? We spoke to Matt Messina (who was in Helen of Troy with the Gospel guys and is still tight with them all) at the end of August and he also confirmed that magic volume will be released separate to the new LP. But like I said, things can change? I just know Vinny was pretty straight that they view that as its own thing, and the new LP stuff is different and its own thing. If that makes sense haha
