Happy release day! It is an actual miracle this album exists. We have been working on this thing on and off for about 5 years now. I’ve never been more proud of this band and the people in it. Truly, this is our favorite record we’ve done. We did this nearly entirely ourselves—with Dave Klyman at the helm. Matt Poirer mixed the hell out of this and Ian Bennett made it louder than an airplane. Big thanks to Justin and Dom for handling our pressing and merch. Thank you to Rusty and the Terrorbird Media team for getting us on the radio, and to Casey at Dark Secret Media for tirelessly lobbying the entire internet about the record. And lastly, thanks to The Gradwell House and Retro City Studios for giving us a place to work that truly feels like home. It has been an insane, difficult couple of years for us. We’re so thankful to still be here sharing this music with you. Hope you dig it—play it loud. US: Restorations – Some Merch (somemerchco.com)

I first heard Dreamhouse because the guy who runs Dark Descent Records (home of Spectral Voice, Blood Incantation, and other OSDM revival stuff that rules) was posting something about it, and all of the trv3 kvlt kydz were losing their fucking minds over this band not being "real metal" in the comments.
I want to say it was a Pitchfork article, I'm not even sure if the whole album had come out yet. But I 1000% remember exactly where i was and what i was doing when I heard that first major chord come in under the blastbeats, and i was like "What the FUCK is this!!!!!"
I was hooked instantly. Fuck the trends. Fuck the trv3 kvlt losers. I still love Darkthrone and Emperor and Entombed and I love Deafheaven and Phish and the Grateful Dead too. Fuck all of the boundaries and rules. Music rules.

buddha4281 reacted to jhulud in PO: Taylor Swift - The Tortured Poets Department
I’m a hardliner Swiftie and gotta be honest…I’m fuckin’ Swift’d out. She’s non-stop everywhere & overwhelmingly flooding the scene. It’s like, girl, take a break, go away for a spell, let your fans breathe & miss you for a bit. As a college friend’s grandma used to say: “Too much is too much…” -

buddha4281 reacted to lexicondevil in PO: SUNNY DAY REAL ESTATE "Diary" dbl LP, "LP2" re
Re-recording albums seems like the new trend. I don't really understand it. I have yet to hear a re-recorded record that sounded better/or different enough to warrant the energy. I mean TSwift is doing it, but that is because she wants to own her own masters. I get that. This other stuff is whatever.

Why I was glad to pay the $40 price tag for these. I knew the quality was going to reflect it. Glad to hear they’re great, to no one’s surprise.

buddha4281 reacted to lexicondevil in New Collector - Need Advice on Defintion of "First Pressing"
I would absolutely care if I paid a premium for a record.
OP, your question was not quite as stupid as the usual ones we get from people, some who are looking for us to write their term paper for them, etc... I didn't even know that you could search using a matrix number. Good to know. Good luck in your search.

buddha4281 reacted to phillybhatesme in New Collector - Need Advice on Defintion of "First Pressing"
Welcome to the site @op. Some good info in here despite it looking like it's a bit aggressive. At least you now know that you can use discogs's search function to lookup runout matrices.

buddha4281 reacted to FlippingOut in PO: Thursday - War All The Time (20th Anniversary Edition)
Thursday is pretty much a legacy act since their reunion, so this makes sense. I saw them at Furnace Fest a couple years ago. Nothing in the catalog touches Full Collapse and War All The Time for me.

Yes, but a repress maybe!
"A City by the Light Divided" live would be cool too, but I don't think they did that record live. Dave Fridmann absolutely butchered that studio album.

That sucks. Still not going to cancel my order because it sounds like business as usual if the label owns the rights. Still sucks though.
