As the other folks have already said, you may not know who he is, but you've definitely heard a couple of his songs over the years, I'd wager. Life On Mars seems like it's been in a ton of movies/tv shows, tons of his songs have just saturated pop-culture over the years. I feel the same way about Bowie that I do about Peter Gabriel; if you don't like at least one of the songs he's been involved with, you're a liar.

The good news is you're in for a treat - his music is pretty incredible. Get yourself a Spotify account and start listening. Ziggy Stardust, Man Who Sold The World, Aladdin Sane, Diamond Dogs, and Low just to start. But even any greatest hits will do to get you going.
 
You might get made fun of for not knowing who he is (or possibly other influential artists), but use it as an opportunity to get your mind blown - if not by Bowie, then by the many artists you've never heard. Some of my first listens to artists like Bowie, Van Morrison, Big Star, Tom Waits, etc. were so important to me in my teenage years....

So I'm convinced this is some great laundry folding music. No clicks or pops just great music even at the low volume I'm playing it at. Love the packaging the embossed gold looks really sleek and It looks super unique. Only downside is there is artist name or anything on the spine :/
Minor annoyance but overall I'm super happy I bought this.

my black copy was shipped

so i havent got shipping yet, and its been 24 hours. they said it was gonna ship immediately. when my mom would ask me to do the dishes immediately, that meant in 5 mins not the next day(s). so i have come to the conclusion that every member of brand new hates their mothers.
