  1. It's my favorite part of this thread. Death Waltz Records had this problem for a long time (maybe they still do) and would get pretty frustrated when it was brought to their attention. It always amuses me when a label brags about their packaging and/or liner notes and then has their hackles up when they realize that we can all tell they refused to pay a by-the-hour copy editor.
  2. I'd buy a tribute 7" of The Cartel Truth as long as it was on splatter vinyl.
  3. Welcome aboard, Kevin. My favorite musical OST is Chess. No need for a repress though; it is readily available.
  4. Vaguely on topic: What're the differences between the two Galactic Melt releases?
  5. Yeah, I was referring to releases paid for and not yet delivered. The list of "announced" titles is a mile long. Still, even with pressing delays, three records sold and not delivered is not cool.
  6. This is exactly the set I was thinking of. I was already mulling these issues over when news of Disintegration Loops LP box broke. I marinated for a spell and decided, no, I'm gong to pass. I din't want the pieces broken up mid "song." After the initial run sold out, a scratch and dent box turned up and the label sold those at a significant discount. I caved and bought one. I've listened to the whole thing once and the first and second twice. That was it for me. Many others have found it transcendent to own these on vinyl and I hope you do, too, but my experience was more distracting than enjoyable.
  7. Word. I don't mind flipping records in principle. Heck, I own room full and am posting on a vinyl forum. It's this specific style of music, along with some classical, where some pieces lend themselves to deep relaxation and in that state, I sometimes resent breaking up the flow of the album. Basinski comes to mind.
  8. This is exactly why I think it gets another release. They waited for the CD to sell out before they announced it was limited to the tour. And the whole "white vinyl version" bit.
  9. Question for you folks in here. I love ambient music. The whole gamut. I own LPs of everything from Eno's Music for Airports to the latest 2 8 1 4. That said, I find there are many albums that I prefer to hear on hi-res audio or CD formats. Many times I have found LPs, particularly reissues, to be noisy and as we all know, this music can often contain long quiet passages. Another reason is that flipping or changing a record (sometimes two or three times) can break up the flow of a piece, even one that has been split into multiple "songs." Anyway, there are still several albums that I spin frequently, but for the above stated reasons, there are some that I own that get played less often on LP. How about all of you?
  10. I wish I had an answer for you, but I don't have this on vinyl. It remains, however, my favorite SFA record to date.
  11. I bet this gets a release outside the tour; just not the white vinyl version. I mean, the tour only goes to six cities on the Eastern Seaboard.

  13. Are you sure it was Amazon? Sounds like you ordered it through VNYL and choose #dogshit as your #mood.
  14. Nice of them to spare a whole ninety seconds of music to sample. Here, take my $50! Agreed on both counts.
  15. I don't understand this one anymore than the US 3LP version from a while back. This soundtrack is a collection of non-exclusive music that can be found in the dollar bins if you were so inclined to hear it. For the price of this score, one could buy most of the albums these songs come from. Barring this being someone's favorite CD from their childhood, I don't get it at all. Make a Spotify playlist, listen to it twice, and forget it exists. Boom I just saved you $40. Killer music and a killer movie, but... I think the score is about 25 minutes of music, but it's a totally valid point. I will wait to see what LITA is charging before committing to this LP. If it's in $30-40 import range, zero chance. If it's in the low twenties, I'd consider it. I've listened to a digital copy several times.
  16. Zero chance I'm laying out that kind of lettuce two months before I even get a chance to hear the damn music for a movie that will probably be an open tire fire anyway. Hard pass.
