  1. You'd still have to fly into LAX and find your own way up there. You can take the train up to Santa Barbara but that still leaves you needing to find a way getting to/from the showgrounds. Renting a car would still be your best bet.
  2. I wouldn't say there is anything "supposed" about it. Yes this is the contest and if you've already ordered you're automatically entered.
  3. Sometime around then. Possibly a little earlier depending on when everything is done. I won't put up a pre-order until I have everything in hand.
  4. Glad to hear people are getting these. If any of you folks want to win 3 pack + a test press go enter here - www.absolutepunk.net/showthread.php?t=2609052
  5. Order now with instant download www.animalstyle.limitedpressing.com/products/16797 Animal Style Records is excited to welcome The Fake Boys (Lowell, MA) to its ever-growing family. On March 27th, 2012, the label will issue the outfit's newest full-length, Pig Factory, digitally and on 12" vinyl, with the latter being limited to 500 copies on black (100) and translucent pink (400) colorways. Pig Factory was recorded and produced by Jay Maas (Have Heart, Title Fight, Transit, Polar Bear Club) at Getaway Recording in Wakefield, MA. The album is the trio's second long-player and the follow-up to This Is Where Our Songs Live, as well as several EPs and split releases. To celebrate today's announcement, Animal Style and The Fake Boys have teamed up with Alternative Press for an exclusive stream of the song "This Is Our Sound." This is an album that's so well put together from start to finish. No filler, no junk.
  6. More details on that next week but basically if you pre-order you're eligible to win a test press.
  7. These are up now and shipping immediately. www.animalstyle.limitedpressing.com/products/15795
  8. Since nothing I do is ever good enough for Brett Lake from Broken Circle. - opaque blue - translucent purple The blue w/black streaks still didn't scan well so there's this. Should probably have this up around 10 am PST.
  9. So these are all done and they'll be up for pre-order tomorrow and shipping out immediately. Picture doesn't really do it justice the clear purple on top has some really nice looking blue streaks through it and the blue with black always comes out looking sweet. Take a listen here - www.animalstylerecords.bandcamp.com/album/mirrors
  10. Brent is a dummy and has never been to California. However, my dog is awesome. LA is very sprawling and you'll be on the opposite side of the city to where I'm at. If you head over to Silverlake/Los Feliz/Echo Park the bars I'd say are the Cha Cha Lounge, The Gold Room, and The Dresden. I think most of the attractions have been hit so I'll go with what I know best, food. Pizza - Tomato Pie, best slice you'll find in LA. Dudes are from NY and bring in water from NYC for the dough. Mexican - King Taco, El Atacor, and Manuel's Tepeyac. You absolutely can't NOT get Mexican food when you're here. Milkshakes - Millions of Milkshakes in W Hollywood. Do it. I love, love, love that The Pantry was mentioned. Other diners to hit up are Swingers and Fred 62. Both are open super late. Pink's Hot Dogs - Do this too I'll probably think of a ton more food places. If for some reason you haven't had In N Out that's also a must, duh.
  11. Selling for a friend of mine who doesn't post here (good dude backed hard) Dead to Me - African Elephants on blue $30 ppd in the US PM if interested
  12. It Won't Snow should probably be pressed on "burnt red" like the arms of a sunburnt boy in love.
  13. When did you order? My order from about a week and a half ago hasnt arrived, no tracking info has been updated and I cant get them to respond to my emails. I just want that Mixtapes LP. Hey Jesse - I understand that you emailed me and are excited about receiving your record but I received 3 different emails as well as a PM from you from 2 separate email addresses over the span of 1 day. Normally this isn't something I'd address publicly but I don't want this to come off as I've ignored you or anyone else for that matter. I'm not always around to reply back to emails on the same day. I do my utmost to get back to everyone in a very timely manner (as well as shipping things out). Which I feel I did so in this case having something shipped out 4 days after it was placed and replying to an email 1 day after it was received. Like explained here USPS gets pretty wacky/wonky especially during the holidays. Brent even pointed out where packages I have sent do not get scanned at every point. I can again assure you that the package has been sent out and is on it's way to you. I hope this doesn't come off as harsh but I do get a little defensive when someone states they "can't get me to respond to emails" and wanted to explain in further detail after seeing this today when I did respond to you yesterday via email. I would like some poutine now.

  15. On February 14th, 2012, we'll issue the Philadelphia outfit's debut full-length, Baseball Season, digitally and on 12" vinyl, with the latter being limited to 500 copies on black (100), clear (200) and cream (200) colorways. Originally self-released by Kite Party in July of 2011 as a show-only CD for an August tour with good friends Tigers Jaw, Baseball Season was recorded and produced by Kyle Pulley (Grandchildren, Dangerous Ponies, Tough Knuckles, Snakes Say Hisss, Band Name) at The Headroom in Philly. The record - which is the follow up Kite Party's 2009 EP Wish Mountain - features nine engaging songs that mate the inventiveness of indie rock and the playful nature of pop with emo's tendency toward twinkly, intertwining guitars and epic song structures. The band wraps it all up in a staunch DIY ethic and the spirit of punk, making for a terrific debut that will appeal to music fans across the board.
