It is definitely ok to name names in this case. The user is Kess, aka KanyeWest and is a well known, and generally disliked user on these forums.

Generally disliked by the most vitriolic man children on this forum. I have more positive trader feedback on here than the TC, and the negative feedback is a relic from 2016 when the site had up and down votes, because of one silly post I made.

I won't have my name slandered for no reason so here's what REALLY HAPPENED when I bought from this guy:

I purchased two records from him that cost $200. He took my money and disappeared for well over a week and didn't respond to any of my messages. He finally responded, sent the records, and one of them was a Paramore 7" box set that I was REALLY looking forward to getting. I put a record on and it played completely distorted, despite looking fine. I played another 7" I owned to see if it was my turntable, and it played fine. I asked him to return it, he didn't respond, so I opened a dispute. He freaked out because it locked up his account. I returned the record and he sent me an angry message saying it played fine on his turntable.

He accused me of faking the video (???) -- I didn't try to get a discount, I wanted to return a record I was really looking forward to getting. His profile says "paramore, paramore, paramore" so clearly he's a big fan. The more likely scenario is that he had a second copy that was totally fine and this was the busted one prior to the replacement, rather than me buying something from him and returning it for no reason, wasting everyone's time and money.

BEWARE WHEN BUYING FROM THIS PERSON. I hope it goes well but my experience was atrocious.

  2. I have no desire to interact with the above user, but for transparency since I don't like being slandered on a public forum: I purchased two records from him that cost $200. He took my money and disappeared for well over a week and didn't respond to any of my messages. He finally responded, sent the records, and one of them was a Paramore 7" box set that I was REALLY looking forward to getting. I asked him to return it, he didn't respond, so I opened a dispute. He freaked out because it locked up his account. I returned the record and he sent me an angry message saying it played fine on his turntable.

Now he's accusing me of faking something? I didn't try to get a discount, I wanted to return a record I was really looking forward to getting. His profile says "paramore, paramore, paramore" so clearly he's a big fan. The more likely scenario is that he had a second copy that was totally fine and this was the busted one prior to the replacement, rather than me buying something from him and returning it for no reason, wasting everyone's time and money.

Anyone who sees this topic can see I have almost 40 positive transactions on here and 0 negative. That should speak for itself. I'm not interested in his side of the story, I'm just not going to get harrassed in my own topic over some lies from a vindictive, shady user.

That's quite a collection he must've had if these are the pieces you're not holding onto.  Some really solid / obscure releases.

Yeah it was about 300 pieces but some seriously quality and unusual stuff

Is there any story with these, Kess?  More than half of them strike me as too "metal" to sit within the listening stratosphere I'd guess you stick to.

Bought a collection from a buddy who's done with vinyl. LOTS of stuff in my wheelhouse, and then lots that isn't.

  5. To me, Sleep Well Beast is a colossal snoozer compared to their other records. System and Guilty Party are the only two stand outs, the rest all feels like the same song over and over. I'd give a nod to Turtleneck for being the most aggressive song but it doesn't land for me.  Day I Die and Walk It Back are pretty good too.

I like it, but it's their worst album.

I'm shocked at all the IAETF hate in here. The female vocalists add such a beautiful and unique layer to the sound they've built over many albums. The first 7 songs are among the best National songs of all time, and the titular track is in my top 3 (next to All The Wine and Slow Show) - the 2nd half is a bit more experimental and less tight but I really enjoy everything. I hope some of you National fans can come around to it.

Part of me think they should have said fuck it and included the BAM show on wax. Do like a proper big ass box set. 5-6LPs (Album, bonus stuff with exile and Wait and then 2-3 LPs of the show)

The BAM show is rumored to be the cherry tree vol 2 release..

I don't get why that's such a great choice though, there's no deep cuts in there besides Secret Meeting and that's arguably a "bigger" deep cut

Hardly. Glad I didn’t preorder it. The singles didn’t do anything for me, and the rest of the album doesn’t fare any better. Not entirely sure where all the positive reviews come from either.

I've never been a big fan but there's always been 1-2 songs per album that I could dig. I listened to this and each song had me praying they would end by the halfway mark. Breathe Deeply or whatever was the only decent track. The fact that it's getting any critical acclaim is a testament to the lack of quality and integrity in music journalism in 2020.

And as a fan I would be insulted by this album. So many stockholm syndrome'd Tame Impalagists smh.
