  1. New album by the Shaking Sensations is very good, as expected. Anyone else give it a listen yet?
  2. That shipping cost is brutal. Too late now, I suppose. I’m sure I won’t mind as much when I have it in-hand but I cringed inwardly as I was adding up the totals.
  3. I don’t know how the above two dropouts are gonna affect pricing, but do you think the difference in cost will be substantial vs. just ordering thru A1KA? If it’s the same price, more or less, I’ll go through you so I don’t have to worry about missing it.
  4. Some solid, dreamy post-metal that got released this week: https://e-l-r.bandcamp.com/
  5. This is gonna be good. I think I'm in the minority but I actually liked Monochrome Noise Love a lot. Excited to see where they go with this.
  6. Listened through twice, yeah it's awesome. I think they could've afforded to add another one or two sludgier or softer tracks because the pace does feel very one-dimensional, but it's like you said: it's just got so much else going for it that that's not a huge gripe. Early on my two favorites are "Queen of Hades" and "King of Ephyra". I went the longest time without picking up Fragments, and I don't think I'll be able to get my hands on a physical copy of this anytime soon, but I definitely anticipate that I'll pick it up somewhere down the line.
  7. Dude thank you so much for bumping. Somehow I forgot that this released today so now I gotta crank this tonight...
  8. Is it TRC - Nation? First thing I thought of, but mostly because of the artwork. Never actually listened so I can't comment on the sound but I think it was hardcore-leaning.
  9. I just realized it's already been five years since Sines. Wow.
  10. Anyone know if the indie exclusive is online for pre-order anywhere?
  11. In other news, The Shaking Sensations quietly dropped another solid new track a few weeks ago. Probably my most anticipated instrumental release late in the year. Proof that meat-and-potatoes post-rock can still be done well. Also, for any post-metal fans in here the new Cranial album seems like it’s gonna be huge. First track is so dense, so riff-heavy. I love it. http://thesludgelord.bandcamp.com/album/alternate-endings
  12. It sounds exactly like A Film in Color and Tunnel Blanket. I like it, but I don’t love it. It sounds nothing like Godspeed, but that’s not really a bad thing.
  13. Friendly bump because I’ll be hitting the Richmond show tomorrow. If anyone wants anything (this or otherwise - I know at least Sanction has a tour exclusive) I’d be happy to help out.
  14. I respect this pick, but I'm almost positive it was released in 2009
  15. I’m with you. I thought it was a solid track - pretty much exactly what I was looking for from them.
  16. Anybody else have a chance to listen to this? Just finished my first run through and I was pleasantly surprised. 40 oz. is killer. They may have overdid it a little with the slow numbers but it's nowhere near as bad as A Place of Our Own was.
  17. Title says it. Looking to pick up a playing copy of this if anyone has one they'd be willing to unload. Here's my collection in case anyone wants to trade:
  18. Not gonna make any superlative claims but these are probably my tops of the decade (no order): Yndi Halda - Under Summer Pianos Become the Teeth - The Lack Long After Apart - Gray Light La Dispute - Wildlife Sophie Hutchings - Becalmed Sebastian Plano - Impetus From Indian Lakes - Able Bodies Moving Mountains - S/T
  19. I have not actually. Where should I start?
  20. I have a nice CD binder under my center console in my car, so this isn't a hypothetical question for me, either. Typically my car music is the fun, -core stuff I like to tell myself I grew out of. Since I cycle them out fairly often I'll just tell you what I have in there right now, I think it's a pretty good sampling... The All-American Rejects - Move Along Search the City - A Fire So Big the Heavens Can See It Emery - ...In Shallow Seas We Sail Saosin - S/T Wolves at the Gate - Captors Hands Like Houses - Ground Dweller
  21. Yep these guys are great. The split with For Your Health is required listening.
