PO: Isis - Panopticon (REMASTERED)
thesecrets0308 replied to Evoke's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
I've actually got a 2014 Black copy of Oceanic I've been looking to sell, like new condition, played only once. I'd be willing to part with it for $40 if anyone is interested, DM me. -
What To Clean Vinyl With???
thesecrets0308 replied to TimeToMoveOn's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
Get one of these and your reckas will thank you. I've been using the KAB EV-1 for over 10 years and it works fantastic. The only thing that's needed replaced once is the applicator brush (nitty gritty rcb) but it's only $20. https://www.kabusa.com/frameset.htm?/ev1.htm -

I'm very happy with it. Very cohesive collection of songs and not a weak one in the bunch imo. I'm a bit perplexed about where Initiation and Protection fall, being the first 2 singles released earlier this year, I expected them to be on the EP. Those 2 songs also sound the most like the 2014 album than any of the stuff released afterwards this year, makes me wonder if those 2 songs just didn't make the cut for the first album for whatever reason. Maybe they'll end up on the full-length album, if we assume at some point there will be a full-length. Regardless, this first EP slaps and I'm looking forward to more in 2023 for sure. And I will continue to buy every single/EP they put out because I love this group and what they're doing.

yeah it was mentioned on this thread a few comments back that Revolver was just straight up cancelling people's orders for Dead Again. My BK order has been in since i think May and they have moved the release date back at least twice. Definitely makes me leery to order anything else from them in the future. Nuclear Blast was right on schedule though, so kudos to them.

listened to my copy of the coke bottle green over the weekend. Pretty impressed with it, dead quiet floor, flat, sound is dynamic and spacious. The live tracks on the bonus disc are not the greatest quality, but I'm certain that's just the quality of the recording, can't polish a turd. Not unlistenable though by any means, the live version of My Girlfriend's Girlfriend was my favorite of the bunch. P.S. still haven't seen shipping notification for my copy of Bloody Kisses from Brooklyn Vegan, going on 5 weeks now since they said it would ship within 3. oh well... just gotta continue to wait I suppose.

PO: Smashing Pumpkins - ATUM
thesecrets0308 replied to beags's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
Absolutely agree. Oceania is a very solid album. It actually sounds like the Pumpkins that made all their 90s material so good. While I understand the desire for artists to "evolve", to me this seems like there's just nothing in it for me to connect with. And for crying out loud... why in the world is Jimmy's amazing drum talent being wasted album after album if he's back in the band? Unless I'm missing something, has there even been a classic Jimmy drum track in any of the new material? The kid in Oceania did about as good of a Jimmy impression with his drum work on that album than I think anyone could ever do. -

nah, you completely misread my comment. I was just reminiscing. And the hashtag is just funny to me, not a blast on the band whatsoever... -

the quality of the pressing means everything and I'm not saying you pay for what you get either. I've had plenty of pricey records sound not so great, but more often the ones that sound not so great are the cheaper ones. But if i have a choice between a 2xLP pressing that sounds like dogshit for $30 and a 2xLP pressing of the same album that sounds fantastic for $50, i'm going to pay that $50 every time. I've got several albums from the Analogue Productions label (some 45 rpm and some 33) and they're always top shelf as far as quality goes. Those are more often than not MORE than $50 for a 2xLP. i guess at the end of the day it all matters where the buyers' priorities are. -

I remember the Pledge Music fiasco when In The Future was coming out when no one that ordered it got the record because Pledge Music went bankrupt. And a bunch of people had a hell of time getting their money refunded. #Inthepresentyourmoneywillbethefurthestthingfromyourwallet -

Thankful that I've already got good pressings of all their albums. $50 for the FP 2LP ok... but $50 for Comfort and Magnified for a single disc? yikes... that's a little steep for sure. -
all 3 websites appear to be inaccessible for maintenance. Maybe i'm just instagramming wrong. thanks for the heads up, guess it never occurred to me that there was a bootleg t-shirt market.

If it ends up being 1/2 speed master of 10,000 Days on 10 discs, in an obsidian box with white gold etching artwork, and a collection of 4 tiny bottles each of them containing a fart from a band member for $10,000, i'll definitely pass on it. I'll wait a few months for the half-priced basic version, ain't falling for that shit again like i did with the 5LP FI box.

I'm the other way around. Have 2 of these from back in the day when i was skinny, now i'm a fat XL t-shirt wearing piece of shit. $50 per shirt though just blows me away.

Definitive Edition $50 a pop t-shirts are up on the nin site. "Limited production heavyweight tee is garment-dyed, washed and specially treated for a soft, subtle worn-in vintage 90s feel and fit" it better suck my dick too for 50 bones. Jesus christ on a cracker. Was totally going to get a Sin Era and Salt and Teeth TDS to replace my worn out ones until i saw the price tag. https://store.nin.com/collections/definitive-edition-tees
