  1. Another tough one... Joy Division - Unknown Pleasures Runners up: Cursive - The Ugly Organ Curl Up and Die - Unfortunately We're Not Robots Cave In - Until Your Heart Stops Darkest Hour - Undoing Ruin Pretty sure this letter is going to be a close race between Ugly Organ and Unknown Pleasures.
  2. Really? I always thought it was their most popular. I always saw Take Care as their black sheep. I am willing to admit that my perspective might be skewed because "Those Who Tell the Truth..." came out my first year of high school though.
  3. Nothing I'm willing to get up early and wait in line for, but if there's a non-RSD release of that Clint Mansell I'll probably blind buy it just on the strength of his other work (seriously, the goddamn Fountain needs a pressing)
  4. This was a tough one for me, not as tough as S but still tough. Runners up: Shai Hulud - That Within Blood Ill-Tempered Self Defense Family - Try Me Explosion in the Sky - Those Who Tell the Truth Shall Die, Those Who Tell the Truth Shall Live Death Cab For Cutie - Transatlanticism
  5. I came close to voting for it, but the Talking Heads have not gotten nearly enough love in this thread. Speaking of sad, at the MHTJ reunion show my raffle ticket was one number off from winning a one of a kind "Heavenly Bodies" lathe cut.
  6. Just realized that live albums arent eligible. Since I can't vote for Talking Heads - Stop Making Sense (the greatest album of all time, so it does't even NEED this) I'm going to go sulk and think of another S album. Edit: Duh, Talking Heads - Speaking in Tongues Runners up: Carissa's Wierd -Songs About Leaving End of a Year - Sincerely My Heart to Joy - Seasons in Verse
  7. That just makes me glad I'm only trying for a full Whenever, If Ever collection. And I'm too broke even for that shit. At one point between my girlfriend and I we had all of their T-shirts/patches. Then they kicked their merch game into high gear and we said "Fuck it"
  8. I figured they were still being sarcastic when I saw that. If they did actually give them away that's pretty cool and pretty much verifies my earlier claim that they're the friendliest band.
  9. Back maybe 8-10 years ago some kid stole a bunch of shit from the Deathwish table at some fest. Then he went on the internet and bragged about it. It became a huge thing. There was a song written about it by an internet joke hardcore band, but it seems to be gone forever now. Some people are just shitheads. I remember a band not too long ago tweeting about someone stealing a bunch of shirts, it might have even been TWIABP now that I think about it.
  10. They just tweeted that they "apparently gave away 30 copies of the tour press for free tonight" Sounds like someone stole them, so I'm just writing off this variant. With 30 stolen copies about to be flipped, I'm never going to feel comfortable buying one.
  11. As someone who watched it when it first aired I just need to let you know that is a sadness that never goes away. You will take that sadness to your grave.
  12. On my instagram post I mentioned it was a bummer they broke up, so I'm pretty stoked to hear they've got new material coming out.
  13. Awesome. My record for today was Taken - Between Two Unseens (@brucewillisisdead if anyone cares)
  14. I agree with this. I just assumed he showed up at the hospital because someone called the police and he heard it over the radio or something. Seriously the best show on TV right now. It's my new Breaking Bad, so I've been trying to get everyone I know to watch it with no luck. If it gets picked up for a 2nd season it'll be a different story with different actors. Hopefully MM and WH come back though. It'll be interesting to see where they go with it.
  15. That's probably like 20 minutes. Sounds about right for the first opener on a 4 band show. I'm super bummed Drug Church aren't playing the show I'm going to. I'm stoked Caravels are playing, but goddamit, I want Drug Church too.
  16. Question for anyone who has gone: Does Mewithoutyou play anything off of A->B Life or Catch for Us the Foxes? I'd normally hate myself for asking a question like that, but while I like all their albums, those have the songs I REALLY want to hear live again.
  17. They really are the friendlest band I've ever met. Seen them about 10 times and after probably the 3rd Greg started recognizing me and my girlfriend and saying hi. Never really conversed with them because I have cray social anxiety, but said hi and shook hands and stuff. Steve once pulled me aside to tell me he thought I was Chris Teti for a second. It's just nice to see your favorite band and have them be like "Hey, it's you guys! Thanks for coming out!" Really bummed their recent tours haven't stopped anywhere doable for me. They're so good that I'm more than willing to give them the benefit of the doubt on the BYTA fiasco. Really sounds like they got fucked by the plant they were using. I remember back when they first started they'd always through a ton of extra shit in with my orders. I got Cursive - The Ugly Organ from Derrick's distro at a show for $8, so he'll always be ok in my book. Every time I listen to it I remember Steve saying "That record is better than anything we'll ever write. Good choice."
  18. Talking Heads already have my vote for S, so I went with Bear vs Shark for R. It was still a close call though.
  19. Bear vs Shark - Right Now You're in the Best of Hands and if Something Isn't Quite Right Your Doctor Will Know in a Hurry Figured I'd use the vinyl artwork for it.
  20. PM'd For some reason the first batch of Amazon preorders didn't have the ticket credit promotion
  21. It seems like Heartbeat is their standard opener and Sodas their closer. Both songs rule and really work as set bookends. I've never really cared about complete collections, but something about this album just made me want to try to get one. I figured having the 1st press /100 and the Record Release version would make it pretty easy.
  22. I think they were calling it a co-headlining tour, but it's definitely Touche Amore who is bringing kids out and selling out the shows. I love mewithoutyou and have seen them a few times since around the time they released Catch for Us the Foxes, but I don't see them drawing Touche Amore sized crowds.
  23. Oh son of a bitch. I figured the black and the red copies would be easy enough to find to complete my collection but this tour press bullshit throws a huge wrench in the works. So yeah, if magically everyone who has already posted in the this thread about it gets one maybe someone could send one my way?
