  1. Hell yes. Been wanting to spring for this album for a while. I think this is my excuse.
  2. Braves need to get their shit together.
  3. Moving Mountains - "Moving Mountains" The Strokes - "Is This It" (MOV Import) Balance & Composure - "Separation"
  4. Loving the look. How does everyone else's sound? Mine seems just a little subpar, mostly on side A. Nothing to get upset about, just a little disappointing.
  5. Yeah, stoked I got that price, too. The more I listen to this, the more I'm loving it on vinyl. It's really made the last 2 songs in particular come alive for me.
  6. Well something's going on where greens are getting sent out apart from deluxe packages. I had to wait for Amazon to get a new shipment in, so I thought there might be a possibility of a green.
  7. You'll laugh, but those scratches are actually just on my dust cover. I left it on and shot at an angle that allowed me to focus on both the cartridge and a portion of the clear plastic cover. The red light is a reflection from the cover of the album on the dust cover.
  8. Got my copy in from Amazon today. White. Bummer. Sounds phenomenal though. The album has a great sound for vinyl. But now I'm in the market for a green if anyone has one they'd be willing to part with.
  9. New set. Playing around with the more vintage look. These happen to make nice Facebook banners, too.
  10. Listened to this for the second time today. Listened once on Pitchfork but their player drives me nuts so I waited to listen again on Spotify. I quite enjoy a few of the songs, but I don't know, something about the album as a whole just doesn't quite do it for me. Gonna keep listening to it to try to arrive at some real conclusion, but I've been on the fence about getting this on vinyl and at this point I think I'm gonna have to pass.
  11. I grew up listening to mostly T&N bands from about 2002-2008 and I never had a grasp on T&N's reputation (except for them having a lot of really talented bands at some point or another) until a couple of years ago. I'd be vaguely interested to see this. Still pissed as hell about the Capitol deal, though. So many fantastic albums won't get the pressing they deserve.
  12. Dunno if anybody else caught it, but the title of the finale is "Felina" FeLiNa Iron, Lithium, Sodium Blood, Meth, Tears Vince fucking Gilligan, ladies and gentlemen.
  13. Saw that earlier... pretty fascinating. Beautifully shot. The shots of the band by their van do seem a little lazy, though.
  14. Heartbroken for the birds. Was really looking forward to seeing them and the Braves both in the playoffs. Now I'll just have to put all my effort into hoping the Braves don't choke in the playoffs again.
  15. That ending with the music was perfect. Loved how this episode was more of a slow burn in preparation for next week. Everything's looking on par for this series to go out as a 100% masterpiece. BTW, if any of you have a Cinebarre theater near you, they're all doing live showings of the finale next week. Some friends and I are going and I'm pumped. I don't have cable, so seeing the finale live and on the big screen is going to be awesome for me.
  16. Sweet. Snatched mine up. Can't wait to see how this variant looks in person.
  17. That. Plus "Everybody! Come Outside" - Pomegranates, "The Question" - Emery, "The Silver Cord" - The Classic Crime, "New Medicines" - Dead Poetic, "I Am Hollywood" - He Is Legend, "All My Friends Are Enemies" - Say Anything, "No Sir, Nihilism is Not Practical" - Showbread, "Attack of the Wolf King" - Haste the Day (I could let this one slide if the Travesty 7" weren't shit quality), and the first three The Chariot albums. Ironically, most of these would likely exist by now if Tooth & Nail didn't fuck up and give EMI a controlling interest. Also, a legitimate pressing of "Sam's Town" - The Killers would be nice.
  18. Okay, changed title and uploaded to flickr for decent high-res quality. Uploaded a few more while I was at it. These are all digital. I'd love to try some with film... I think it'd be very fitting to shoot analog on analog. Plus film has such a nice soft look that works with records. These have all been shot on either Canon 7D or Canon T3i. At this point all my lenses are cheapy ones. Most of these were shot with a Canon 50mm f1.8 and a few used a Canon 18-55mm f3.5 or a Canon 75-300mm f5.6. As far as techniques, I play around with different color profiles (the digital version of film stocks) and lighting. One or two of the photos use a technique called freelensing to redirect the focal plane. Probably the biggest thing I do with most of them is just a lot of color grading in Photoshop. Milking the blacks is one of my favorite methods (gets more of the film look), but usually I just play around with whatever looks good for each individual photo. Anyhow, couldn't add any more photos to the first post. so here's the rest that I uploaded.
  19. Those are awesome, I'll have to try some backlighting sometime.
  20. I work in film so I love cameras and dabble in photography. Thought I'd share some of the shots I've done of my records. These should be plenty high resolution for those of you wanting to use them as desktop wallpapers, but if you would like the originals, they're available here. Plus more in this post.
  21. Awesome, thanks for the heads up. Amazon's still dragging their feet so I'm gonna wait and see if they can actually get me a copy or not. Not super keen on paying $19 from HelloMerch unless I know Amazon's just got white.
  22. Blue and gray starburst. Got mine from Amazon. Perfect condition and sounds phenomenal. My only issue is there seems to be some distortion on the inside tracks of sides A and B, but they're heavier songs anyway so it's not a big deal to me.
