It's really tough for me at this point to pick between Ruminations and Salutations after a few listens this past week. The tracks from Salutations that were on Ruminations have a whole new layer that makes them almost new songs, but I'm all about the 'rawness' of Ruminations.

Agreed - I really enjoyed the rawness of this first LP, this is def in a different direction. Not necessarily bad, just different.

Bit the bullet and preordered the purple - for 20 bucks shipped, really can't go wrong. Plus, both new tracks sound great!

Is the Pinkerton 2016 reissue from Vinyl Me Please or some other version? Having a hard time finding info about it online. Thanks!

A few tracks have been released so far from this and they are pretty good - recommended if you're into AHJ's past work. Picked this up at my local shop today on Black - this album is fantastic. Haunting, beautiful, happy, and sad - all sorts of feels. Sufjan is a god.
