  1. There wasn't. In that case, I think they were trying to not scare everyone off as TBHC was about as sharp a left turn from AM as they could've taken. In this case, there will be a lead single & video in a matter of, like, four days. I honestly think announcing the album with the single coming a week later is just because they're a big enough band to get two different news cycles out of that. Just good marketing.
  2. Tuesday seems to be the rumored date for a single, we'll see how that pans out. A lot of rumors panned out with the release date and today being the day the announcement would drop, so we'll see. They also played a new song (which is apparently not the single) for the first time at yesterday's show, so presumably if they play it at the big fests they're doing this weekend, some good stream recordings will make their way online.
  3. I think that's it for the time being, yeah, in addition to the standard black. Gray, as the deluxe, has a tip-on mounted artwork sleeve while the others have a spot gloss cover image. Wouldn't anticipate much more than this as they've not done much for variants in the past, but who knows. I think Tranquility Base had the clear, the silver, and then they did the gold at the release day pop ups. I'd really love to get the custard but I've maintained getting the deluxe version of Alex Turner's output since AM onwards.
  4. They had, I believe, the first three you mentioned, plus a bunch of Oh Sees vinyl. And were almost entirely out of shirts. This was at the Chicago dates last weekend.
  5. Unfortunately I managed to get in just in time for the code to still work but for the notes to have run out, apparently, haha. rip
  6. Per the promo email that went out: "No CDs this time. I didn’t wanna make something that would end up in a landfill in 2 years, but more than that, I wanted to make something that symbolised my commitment to asking questions of our systems, and making stuff with intention and sensitivity. I’m calling it a music box. It’ll be the same size and shape as a CD, and you can buy it where CDs live, but this is something totally different. If you’re torn on which hold-in-your-hands, flip-through-the-pages thing to buy to best enjoy this album, honestly, I’d go for the music box. You’ll know more about this very soon."
  7. I was signed up for the restock email. Like, I clicked before I even got the email about your post, haha. It's legitimately wild how difficult it is to purchase any of these Phoebe pressings.
  8. Good point, reconsidering the intellectual value of going into a thread and just saying "Boring"
  9. So they sent out an email on this showing the records because the finished product ended up a lot different from the mockup, giving the option to cancel if you weren't happy with how it turned out, then sent out one today saying Hana would be signing all the copies for people who opted not to cancel. Very cool outcome, IMO, and one of the best handlings of "whoops, our mockup is way off" situations I've ever seen.
  10. I dunno, I have a feeling they want it sent to their new warehouse/studio because they want to actually get to handle & look at the various variants that get made. Like, the Poly project was a fun idea but then they probably got to see a very small number of the actual variants that were made, and this is a way of approaching that. Just one interpretation though. Needlejuice is having the live stuff remastered for vinyl, so hopefully it sounds good.
  11. It is worth mentioning, for sure. Though in my case, I actually prefer that it doesn't include them, I really just wanted a nice box set with the live albums together.
  12. I honestly haven't been feeling any of the variants for the Demos or the Teenage Gizzard stuff, even from labels I generally like a lot, it's too bad. But my favorite variants are generally just ones that imitate the colors on the cover art.
  13. I do kind of like the cohesive "galaxy" aesthetic of their non-box set live presses but I'll probably have to go for the box set. But yeah, their first release (which they disrupted their originally planned first release for) was a very nice Poly pressing that was $15 shipped, gatefold, and sounds and looks very nice.
  14. I think more specifically they've said they're doing open preorders for at least a week and deciding from there how many copies they'll be pressing total. I'll probably go for the Needlejuice live box set. I did confirm it does come in a box, and that's basically what I was waiting for someone to do, and my Needlejuice Poly pressing is one of the best ones. I did my own Qrates listings with, I think, some fairly tasteful Qrates listings here and here with some nice artwork that I'll probably see if some label wants to maybe use when they inevitably don't reach their goals. I think this gatefold artwork I threw together would look nice! (If it's not kosher to talk about the stuff I made, edit it out or let me know and I'll edit it out.)
  15. Needlejuice has a couple variants of the Teenage Gizzard thing and a 3xLP for Live in Adelaide now https://needlejuicerecords.com/product/teenagegizzard/ https://needlejuicerecords.com/product/gizzardliveinadelaide/
  16. Ever since they announced this I've been mucking around in Qrates (I've never used this so I don't know if they're terrible or anything) and would really, really love a huge boxset of the live albums with clean uncomplicated colors like this, damn. (Edit: I realize none of these would fit on a single LP haha)
  17. I'll admit "leftists watch CNN all day and their hero is Andrew Cuomo" is a pretty good joke at least
