    Hello!

Just wanted to let you know that the new Swans album leaving meaning. is now available for pre-order. You can get a signed copy via the Young God Records Webstore (https://bit.ly/2jWX7nB). It will be officially released October 25. You can listen to a song from the album called "It's Coming It's Real" on Swans YouTube channel (https://bit.ly/2jWXkqT). It's just one facet of an album that is replete with a wide variety of moods, dynamics and atmospheres. This particular song features the choral vocals of Anna and Maria von Hausswolff. The album includes contributions from recent and former Swans, members of Angels of Light, as well as Special Guest Artists Ben Frost, The Necks, Baby Dee, a Hawk and a Hacksaw and Anna and Maria von Hausswolff. This album is the first installment from the newly reconfigured Swans, which will henceforth draw from a wide pool of talented contributors, varying from record to record. I hope you enjoy the music!

    With Unbridled Love,

    Michael Gira / Swans

Unsigned copies of leaving meaning. are also available though Mute in the UK. (https://bit.ly/2lAotjU)

Tbh nothing is really clicking. If I had to listen to something I'd maybe pick NIN or Chvrches. Maybe Frank Turner and like I said I've just discovered Jamie Lenman. Maybe Bane when I fancy something heavier. I'm liking the instrumental stuff as background music. It doesn't make me jump up and down but maybe that's asking too much. However it is pretty much all I've been listening to lately. I like ambient kinda synthy/electro stuff. Nothing too heavy and not orchestral.  I like Cliff Martinez for example.

    Thank you for posting.

I was about to suggest Cliff Martinez

  3. I was pretty down a little while back and Shane from Napalm Death posted about the band Cardiacs. I checked them out and was blown away... their music can be manic and all over the place and also beautiful and uplifting. Often the songs are epic nine minute crescendos like the one below and those cheer me up the most. They are eclectic and definitely not for everyone but they certainly have made me happier since I discovered them. Sadly the frontman had a massive heart attack and stroke leaving a My Bloody Valentine concert In 2008 so they aren't making music anymore but they have a big discography and there's a lot to discover if you're into it.

loved Terrifyer last 2 albums have been meh...

surprised this many posts in thread for a grind band on here... have Pig Destroyer transcended grind to a point where they are more universally loved like Deafheaven and Sleep, although mostly for the value of their records and love they get from pitchfork... (or am I just being cynical).

    Pick one

ehhh you're probably right.  I just saw on pitchfork that they retracted that this was an ep cause it's actually an lp.  Guess it really doesn't matter.   Also pitchfork is shit haha.

Correction: A previous version of this story referred to Bad Witch as an EP. A representative for the band has confirmed that it is an album.

    Interesting

I understand companies make mistakes and they're culpable (to an extent) but what do these people want, to put them out of business? Keep sending records back for minor issues and see where that gets you. Go find something better to do with your time and maybe listen to your records instead of looking at them.

Some poor fellow that works for VMP is in that thread now answering questions and they are being total savages to him. I kinda feel bad. I seriously can't imagine such a mass of people all feeling so entitled over a damn record.
