I ended up filing a claim through PayPal, and thanks to their 180 day money back guarantee, I was refunded for my purchase (minus 1 cent). I was really expecting them to to say, sorry there's nothing we can do because Bandbox has essentially gone under, but that was not the case.

It is still my favorite album of the 2000s. Just a goddamn phenomenal record. "The Reasons" was the first dance at my wedding!
In related news, JKS and Christine Fellows just put out an album of instrumental music except for the last track, which is JKS singing and includes the Weakerthans' rhythm section. It's the closest we've gotten to a new Weakerthans song in a loooong time:

Depends on how you placed your order. They all had different estimates for when they would ship so it depends on whether or not you paid for shipping when you ordered each one. I would assume they wouldn't eat any shipping costs by mailing more than 1 package if you bundled them in 1 order.

I rewatched Mission Hill recently and it got me on a Cake kick again, which was evidently well-timed. Can't get over how their open-window pre-order was $90 for the box set less than a decade ago and how far the industry's gone with inflation, christ.

This is a letdown. I managed to find one of the bootleg versions at the beginning of this thread, it's in a beautiful gatefold with lyrics printed on the inside. I hope they at least do printed inner sleeves.....

Also, let me say this about the bootleg, it's ok. But i expect this official press to be exceptional.

I've been listening to all the previous albums on streaming media this week at work in anticipation of this release (and the 3 to follow) and yeah, there are a few dud songs in there, but i'm glad he keeps punching out new music. To me it's better than nothing.  There are many other bands i've followed for 30-35 years or more that rarely put out music, or have stopped altogether. 
I've pre-ordered.
And i think the new single sounds good. It sounds like Weezer. Which is exactly what i want.

it's probably because of covid/ his accident, but damn i'm so glad the single is not full band. The album cover and vibe indicates the full album will be the same which is just perfect. 

It sure took a while for them to finally reissue Hubcap and Last Dog. I have OG Creation Records presses of both but might spring for these if I find them at decent prices. Both albums are total break-up albums for me.

All five Sugar releases (Copper Blue, Beaster, File Under Easy Listening, Besides and the Joke Is Always On Us, Sometimes) along with three solo albums (Bob Mould / Hubcap, The Last Dog And Pony Show and Silver Age) are all being reissued by Demon Records in the UK on clear vinyl except for Silver Age which will be on silver vinyl. Hubcap and TLDAPS haven't been pressed since their original release and copies go for a pretty penny. The rest are ten a penny.

Some German store was selling the box set last week for like $45 shipped to the US so I bought one...hoping that turns out to be legit.

I just bought the boxset before Christmas. Figured it was a healthy decision for my first holidays alone in seven years. Somehow turned out to be a great decision, and I was even more happy to hear this news yesterday! 

Can't wait to hear what they come up with. 

A tour with Phoebe Bridgers opening would be perfect.

I cant even listen to the new stuff at this point. I really don't mind the stream of consciousness style. I love the Desersthore/Perils from the Sea/Benji era probably the most. The problem is he no longer even pretends to sing. Its just talking over jazz music at this point. I feel like he should be wearing a beret and smoking a cigarette

Yea, all the JD Salinger books were printed with this design a little while back.

I like it, however it is horribly compressed.
Count me in when/if they have a separate mastering for vinyl.

One I sold on discogs and the other I gave to a friend.
 
Prolonging the Magic is the record they pressed in the wrong colour for the second run. That's the defining difference between the first run and second run. I think all the other records were pressed in the correct colour (but I haven't seen them to know for sure). I know this because of the multiple copies I was shipped.
