  1. In my experience, you're fucked. That being said, there should be package info associated with the tracking number. If he really sent an empty box, it should have weighed a few ounces at best at the Post Office when he checked it in. Does the label on the box list a weight? That's the only evidence for your side that I can think of. If it really is only a few ounces, it's worth submitting that - in photo form - to Paypal as part of the dispute. Edit: The weight is important because the lightest record I've ever sent was maybe 14oz. A 2xLP would be more like 1.8 pounds. What kind of record did you originally ship?
  2. Really struggling with whether or not I need this. I don't have doubles of any album at this point. I don't want to start down the road that I've seen so many take on these forums. That road leads to darkness.

  4. This is why bundles with minor items like socks or patches is dumb...once the retailer throws something that is no longer considered "media" in a box, it no longer qualifies for Media Mail. Get a $3 pair of socks and end up eating $10 extra in shipping for them. Not a great idea....it frustrates the shit out of me when albums are only available in bundles.
  5. I got an Amazon copy and it sounds great, extremely quiet. I was cautious though and scissored the sleeves apart so that I could lift the records out without them dragging on the paper, then brushed them and put in poly sleeves. My only complaint is that my C/D LP is a bit dished. Hopefully I can compress it down a bit under a book.
  6. $75 for a 3xLP. I love Metric but that's gonna be an easy nope from me.
  7. TIL £3 is "alot less" for a non-colored, higher-run variant. What you could have done here is announced the clear version was going to exist before the black shipped, so people had a choice in the matter.

  9. So how is STP with Jeff G. instead of Scott? I haven't heard any material since The Event.
  10. My guess is that its got to be the third pressing. Unless they found a 6-year old box of records in their basement.
  11. I think for me the problem is that we only know one song off this album. We all hope it will be brilliant, but I've certainly been burned by artists before. If you buy something limited and you don't like it, it's like a little insurance policy that you can make your money back because of its rarity, because guaranteed some people love it, even if it ends up not for me. The more variants, especially previously-unannounced ones like this one, lessen the guarantee that you could be easily rid of it if you want and not take a loss. It's also nice to know that something in your collection has value; I doubt anyone would disagree with that. All that being said, the single is amazing and I fully expect to love this album. And I could certainly cancel my order right now if I was really concerned about the money. Like I said before, it just feels deceptive on the part of the label. It's nice for people who missed the post this morning though.
  12. Oh I thought the second pressing was the exact same colorway. Looks like they changed it slightly. I guess it just feels like some labels/stores try to build up a frenzy making people feel like they are going to miss out if they don't buy immediately, which is pretty disingenuous if you're just going to immediately say "hey, here are more actually!" once the initial run sells out. It doesn't really affect me but the sales tactic definitely rubs me the wrong way, like a sleazy car dealer.
  13. " Saddle Creek Store Exclusive : Since the 1st pressing of colored vinyl sold out before some of you had a chance to have your morning coffee, we’re making a 2nd pressing of limited edition vinyl exclusive to the Saddle Creek Store. " It's the old Birth of a New Day "j/k this limited album isn't actually limited". Kind of a dick move but at least people won't miss out.
  14. I think it looks great. I barely know this band but the tri-color design along with the free shipping make this a no-brainer. Really liking their previous album that I am listening to now.
  15. Also filled out. I'm intrigued by the audio capture idea...it sounds good in theory, but I also don't really want to have to connect my turntable to a whole setup just to sell a record to a picky buyer. Audio capture via phone would be ideal.
  16. Hmm this is very interesting. Now that I look at my TVS order, it looks like it is cheaper than it should be. I wonder if it was a fuckup somehow. Below are screenshots from their website and from my order confirmation. https://imgur.com/a/QW8ud It seems like something was probably wrong because at least as of today, £34.50 should be more like $47.81 (instead of $39.61 as shown). I'll take it though
  17. It's cheaper at the link OP posted for anyone in the US. I ordered this a few days ago and the total was $39.61 USD, vs. $46.43 from Banquet. I think that The Vinyl Store might drop VAT, and Banquet does not.
