Saw em in Birmingham last night. They fukn laid waste to the crowd by finishing the show w 15 minute Silverfuck that was all you could ever want out of that song.  My 1st SF at my10th show. Also my 1st Quiet.

Really love this "surprise release." No singles or anything like that, just a few hour heads up that it was dropping at midnight. And in this age where vinyl production takes forever, I greatly prefer artists and labels waiting until they have the physical product in hand to begin sales, rather than having a pre-order like "vinyl ships in 2023."
 
I ordered the navy and white vinyl from Bandcamp, and have listened to the album through twice--enjoying it, but I need to dig into the lyrics.

Yeah.  I don't sell frequently enough (or in large enough volumes) to really be "stung" by this.  It's the principle I find to be the biggest pain in the dick.  An additional 15% cut [on profits] on top of sales tax?  On top of Paypal fees?  And submission of paperwork for the ~10-15 records I may sell throughout a calendar year?  Fuck right off.

Most social media posts seem to be coming from UK/EU. I ordered from Quiet Panic and it hasn't shipped so I assume they're on their way to the US.

the quiet panic/usa one is being distributed by a Canadian company so guess they will arrive a bit later but Dec 25th seems very far fetched

Sly said the entire order is a preorder and making Wax Mage mock-ups isn’t something they’re comfortable with 😂

Will be trying to get if I don't forget. Really cherish the vinyl copy of Late Night Cinema I have. Love BSBD.

I believe they intend to keep all the Tone Poets and Classics in print, more or less, butpressing plants are so backed up right now that represses are slowly trickling in. Some of the early BN Classics titles are being restocked at a variety of vendors, e.g., Lee Morgan's Sidewinder.

I talked to Plaidroom. They are not doing a pre-order for this. They did say they ordered hundreds of copies of this title. It'll drop the night of November 4, when they release their "new releases" email. Also, likely to be Limit 1 Per Customer. 

My guess is they'll charge $55 for it, and it'll ship for free. Seems like their prices are always a few dollars less than every other shop. 

Yeah, it's nice when a label keeps a record in print. I'm more stoked on the orange MICF.

Unpopular opinion: I detest those wraparound covers and I'm glad my copy didn't come with one haha

It's a heavy weight trifold jacket with reflective printing. Tons of glossy photos. All LPs are clean and come in Gotta Groove MoFi-style rice paper inner sleeves. Also includes printed paper sleeves with additional artwork. A small insert with more photos and information. Recording notes, etc. The LPs are a little different from the mockups. I ordered the amber with black swirl but it ended up being more of a multicolor swirl. Doesn't really matter that much, just worth mentioning. Still looks greatm. I have only listened to Side A thus far. Plays clean.

I'm going out on a limb here, based on the information presented:
You're new to vinyl. As said above, this is just a scuff, usually caused paper sleeves.
If you're new to vinyl, it is possible you have an entry level turntable (under $300).
These tables do not have the best tracking and skips are very common. It's probably a coincidence that the record skips where the scuff is.

As for cleaning, try a SpinClean.

Mono vs. Stereo is an apples and oranges comparison, but I'm glad you're happy with both versions. I have the UHQR and it's a wonderful pressing. Also have the 2013 mono reissue and that too is incredible. But jazz in general I think sounds better in mono. 

And received today. No tracking in the email, but ended up being FedEx overnight. Nice. 
 
Came in a decent mailer with the extended sides to protect against corner dings, and LPs are in top shape. I’ve seen others say they use flimsy packaging. Maybe true for single LPs, though I’ve ordered  from them before and don’t recall the packaging being bad (or at least, there were no issues). 

FNAC might be my new favorite store for imports. Just $40 shipped and it arrived via DHL from France to Michigan in just 2 days. Proper record mailer and they don't charge until they ship.

The LP on LPs are up on Dry Goods for $19 each (although you've got to pay shipping and taxes). There are t-shirt and poster options, too.
