This has to be the overstatement of the year. I'm in tons of boards and lots of Facebook groups and have literally never heard of this band until you dropped them in this thread. I just checked them out. Sounds like pretty good post-rock, so thanks for introducing them.

Gumbo is the resident master of hyperbole. 😜

That said, I'd be down for a Solace pressing

It's wild how this didn't sell as fast as I think they thought it would

Yeah, that price was egregious. If they'd even originally priced it at like... $30 shipped it probably would have sold out by now. $20 has become my limit for stuff like this that is really just nostalgia bait though and waiting it out has paid off more often than not.

That Spitalfield anniversary reissue and a couple other things were just on a big sale too, so I'm glad I didn't shell out for them at the initial prices.

I'm conflicted on the price tag. On one hand it's way too much money for an LP, BUT if it were $20 it would sell out quickly and then flippers get the flip sale money that is in excess of what the band sold it for. If anyone is going to get the money for the art it should be the artist. I guess the solution is having it not be limited, but that will also discourage some buyers. Regardless it's a clown move... and I mean nothing good or bad by that; just stating the facts.

If it were less limited/was a larger pressing so they could sell them for $20-25 I'd definitely grab one.

Part of the problem for me is that the visuals actually add a lot to this for me, so while I enjoy it musically for what it is, I'm still not even getting the full experience from the record and they're charging stupid prices for it.

maybe you all have learned your lesson and will stop ordering from Parting Gift???

You keep bringing this up as though most of the folks who ordered from them weren't like, "Fuck, these guys suck but there is no other way to get this for a remotely reasonable price."

Everyone gets it, dude. You just come across as obsessive and annoying.

3 weeks of these shipping have passed and a ton of people still don't have their copies. I sent an email today which shockingly was answered within a few hours (they ignored my emails from November and December). Asked when they would be shipping by and was told "These are still all currently shipping" which is not an answer. They cc'd staff about the overcharge on shipping. I recreated the same order and sent a screenshot to show I was overcharged in November. We'll see if they do anything about that. I also pointed out I ordered 1 minute after they went on sale which they didn't acknowledge. It's amazing they have the power and ability to get these licensed and pressed but can't manage shipments to save their life. And having the artwork cut off and discolored is absurd. I know I can't be the only person pissed off about how bad they're handling this.

I'm just glad that it's unlikely they'll ever press anything else I want.

Anyone surprised? Never paid more than half price for any of their releases.  Still remember arguing with this guy on reddit when he started this thing and trying to explain to him why I found the subscription model entirely unappealing.  Glad it worked out for him.

Oh shit! I remember that thread. Pretty much everyone told him it was a bad idea.

I had to do a double-take from glancing at it earlier; absolutely would've bet money that it said Los Angeles, so I have no idea what happened there.  But you guys are right.  I dunno if Vegas is any better or worse, but at least it's closer [for me].  Probably not swinging it, but I agree that the lineup seems like you're bound to catch something great anywhere you turn.

Either would be fine for me distance-wise. If I weren't planning a different trip around that time I'd be all over this even though I really hate festivals.

I'm not surprised at all - it was just 300 pressed in 2017 but that still reduces how many may want to buy it now. Also, more importantly, $27 for a 3-song 12" is ridiculous.

    Yeah.

I almost passed on a 2xLP yesterday because it came out to $40 shipped. Probably would have if I didn't have every album they've put out so far. $30 for an EP is too much.

Fuckin A. Cyanide Blue. New Order's last wide release was from BOB like 13 years ago. Kept beating myself up for missing that one and Practice. Hoping for a gatefold like the BOB release. Also what's going on with Practice What You Preach? The Legacy already got a wide release not to long ago...

I have a feeling Practice will see a repress relatively soon. Nuclear Blast has been pretty good lately with repressing stuff.

  10. First two Testament albums are getting repressed by Nuclear Blast.

I know I've been waiting for NWO for a hot minute, thought maybe some others might be interested in these.
