Do you have a vinyl only instagram?
Eliminator Jr. replied to wbhendrix's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
Been taking some time off of social media / the internet for the better part of the year, but I plan on slowly kicking back in on some stuff. So feel free to stop on by and drop a line or something: https://www.instagram.com/eliminator.jr/ -
P.O. NOW: Slowdive S/T (05/05/17)
Eliminator Jr. replied to paralyticstalks's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
It also has no vocals, which in this instance I prefer. Also those three minutes make all the different from way too short for such an atmospheric piece to just right. Love it. -

I have an OG and it’s my most played Slowdive record, easily. Unfortunately the best song they’ve ever done is not, which makes it exclusive to the EP. -
PO Now: Julien Baker - Turn Out the Lights
Eliminator Jr. replied to The Saint's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
Heartbreaking performance in Hamburg yesterday. A set full of setclosers, no encore, topped it off with a tour press. -
What do you think is happening at DWHQ? I'd be surprised if they employed a person whose sole job it is to determine whose preorder has the most Converge or DW-releases to their discogs. Yet if they don't, how can you be disappointed in them? Do you except them to remember you? Few copies are randomly inserted into preorders, so yeah, be disappointed that the odds didn't go your way, fair enough, but you seem to act as if they've done you a disservice in some way. Owning a near complete Converge collection doesn't make you friends. Or family.

PO - Brand New - Science Fiction
Eliminator Jr. replied to marc32137's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
I'm not saying it's not! But there's definite room for improvements in terms of dynamics, especially on the louder songs, and I was hoping that a quality vinyl master would tickle just a little bit more out of the source material. I don't think the digital version is unlistenable by any means. It's good! -

That's too bad, because the 320 really doesn't sound that great, I think. I was hoping a less compressed vinyl master would make it a bit more enjoyable, but your observation seems to state the opposite. Guess I'm going to wait for more reviews concerning the master before I spend money, since I don't need an inferior version of an already not so great sounding album. I'm also a 100% positive there's not going to be an exclusive vinyl master for another variant. That would be pretty much the first time ever something like that would happen, while also being prohibitively expensive. -
@skycriesmary Mladic is a beast, I agree. But, and this is the main problem I had with 'Allelujah' ever since, it's also 15 years old. So is We Drift Like Worried Fire. I know, that might not be a reasonable criticism for everyone, but the fact that I knew both songs by heart for many years, plus the fact that the other two songs are complete throwaways in my book always dampened the impact and my enjoyment of the album overall. I've seen them play 'Behemoth' three times before the release of Asunder and, next to the fact that by the time it got released it's already gotten kind of old for me, the recorded version is a mere glimpse of the monster that it has been in concert. Now don't get me wrong, I enjoy both albums and think they're fairly good. Seeing them play both Bosses Hang and Anthem For No State on the Asunder tour was something else, though. And I think this time 'round they achieved a distinct and captivating studio version of the majestic proportions these songs had in their early stages during live sets. Also Luciferian Towers is, to me, that is, their first album since Yanqui without any filler. I enjoy every track just as much as the next one and there is no way I could say the same thing about 'Allelujah or Asunder.

So, who else thinks that Luciferian Towers is their best post-reunion album by, yeah, quite a bit? I feel they finally succeeded in crafting a well-rounded piece that is not just two longtracks and two drones while the latter don't actually add a thing next to 'time to breath' after/before the actual tracks. I'm also getting all sorts of warm and fuzzy feelings listening to this. The build-up of side a has me thinking Yanqui UXO which, as some people here might know, gets me extra-excited. Side b however has a wonderful, intricate and sorrowful post-war spaghetti western-vibe. It just breathes F#a#. The climax of Bosses Hang is pure nowadays-GYBE and I think it is their best one yet, post-reunion, that is. So, overall, I'm happy. Was expecting another good, but ultimately compatible album, but they delivered their best collection since Yanqui and what is quite certainly my favorite post-rock release of the year.

Favourite High-Quality Re-Releases?
Eliminator Jr. replied to Othon L's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
You might find some good recommendations sifting through the query in the link below: http://forums.stevehoffman.tv/search/43485701/?q=Best+reissues&o=relevance&c[title_only]=1 People over there are often concerned with pressing quality and A-Bs of reissues vs. originals. There's also a lot of smartassing and butthurt going on, but that's the internet.- 34 replies

PO: The National - Sleep Well Beast
Eliminator Jr. replied to colbourne25's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
Blue copy showed up today, happy to see it's translucent. As always with me and The National this album will need a lot of rotation to start and slowly sink in. But they always do. -

Just wait until release day and buy one of the 10.000 or so copies the indie exclusive will end up encompassing at your local store. -

I was not aware of that. Were you able to remove them with a blow dryer or something? -

No non-fill on "Luca". I know it has been reported as a widespread issue, but I failed to detect anything resembling a non-fill issue on either copy.
