Eliminator Jr. got a reaction from ptothedo in (P.O. Now!) Converge - The Dusk In Us (November 3rd)
What do you think is happening at DWHQ? I'd be surprised if they employed a person whose sole job it is to determine whose preorder has the most Converge or DW-releases to their discogs. Yet if they don't, how can you be disappointed in them? Do you except them to remember you? Few copies are randomly inserted into preorders, so yeah, be disappointed that the odds didn't go your way, fair enough, but you seem to act as if they've done you a disservice in some way. Owning a near complete Converge collection doesn't make you friends. Or family.

I'm not such a fanboy that I don't comprehend differing opinions. I don't love Axe to Fall. Most any Converge fan more than like 3 years younger than me would think that's insane.
But given their last few records, this new one isn't out of left field. Different, but a logical progression. Like, I don't listen to a new Between the Buried and Me album and go "What's this prog-ass bullshit?" I think it, but I'm not surprised and it doesn't make sense to complain.
They only have one LP worth of good material?

After a bit more harassment the guy who runs the burning world fb said he aims to get it online next week.
Also some guy who was asking for price details was quoted an estimated price of around $70.

Glad everyone is enjoying the album so far.
A ton of effort and emotion went into this one, so I really appreciate that many of you have taken the time to listen.
If you pre-ordered from DW, look for your order to arrive shortly as they have all shipped.
Special thanks to the crew here at DWHQ for working so hard on getting them out the door the last few weeks.
If you pre-ordered from KR, I believe they have all shipped already as well.
Thanks.

I'm not saying it's not! But there's definite room for improvements in terms of dynamics, especially on the louder songs, and I was hoping that a quality vinyl master would tickle just a little bit more out of the source material. I don't think the digital version is unlistenable by any means. It's good!

Anyone else's indie copy have a significant repetitive click at the end of Out Of Mana? I looked closely and there's a tiny scribble-scratch right on that outro part with just vocal & guitar. Wondering if pressing defect or a piece of garble got inside the sleeve and did some damage during shipping.
Also, the vinyl, sound-wise, definitely does not hold up to the dynamics and clarity of the digital album. I know vinyl is inherently limited in these respects, but it's noticeably muddier, much more than pressings of their other albums compared to digital. I even did a vinyl rip (I have a good system for it) and while I usually prefer my rips over the digital tracks, the MP3 V0 album that came with the pre-order sounds much better. Hoping for better mastering on the band exclusive when that arrives.

Eliminator Jr. reacted to kannibal in PO: My Bloody Valentine - Loveless and Isn't Anything
Wasn’t MBV around $45 from most stores in the US when it was first made available? The price didn’t really drop until the hype had died down and product started sitting on shelves.
I was thinking earlier today that if I hadn’t already told my local to order these for me I would buy from the MBV store now. $64 shipped seems like a lot, but if I saw all analog, 180gm, official copies of two of the greatest albums of all time sitting on the shelf in a store for $32 each i’d buy them without thinking twice.

The Solipsis promo material being sent with the first 100 orders is such a big deal. I'm assuming the material in question is this release http://rateyourmusic.com/release/unauth/the_angelic_process/solipsistic/
Which has some absolutely fantastic songs on it, I'm honestly dying to hear how they're going to sound in CD/FLAC quality, considering there's only a low quality version of it available. If I don't get to be one of the first 100 ( Just the thought of it is making me anxious, seriously, The Angelic Process is the best band to ever graze this planet) - I can only hope that they will at least do a Bandcamp digital release of it. There is only one slightly disappointing aspect to this box set so far, and that is the lack of the CD bonus tracks of ...And Your Blood Is Full Of Honey, those tracks being Hang Him Higher and Cages Of Blood And Bone, both of which are absolutely ethereal and brilliant, ugh, I'm getting goosebumps just from mentioning them.
https://www.discogs.com/The-Angelic-Process-And-Your-Blood-Is-Full-Of-Honey/release/915184
They released ...And Your Blood Is Full Of Honey with the new artwork on Bandcamp very recently, and as you can see, it's missing the bonus tracks which can be found on the physical CD.
https://burningworldrecords.bandcamp.com/album/and-your-blood-is-full-of-honey
With that said, I am pumped to finally get my hands on both the debut album and the Sigh EP, I consider that EP to be their very best work, although I'd take any of their material over basically everything else any day of the week. The passing of Kris is the most tragic loss in the history of music as far as I'm concerned, and to see how unkown they really are will forever boggle my mind. They were and still are an absolute treasure and it's simply a pleasure to be among the lucky few to have discovered them.
ALSO: That FUCKING explosion of a part at 3:55 of this song. It incinerates your entire face and proceeds to burn away at your soul. A tier of its own which I don't see any artist ever topping.

Also before this gets buried under a wave of bigger less fringe threads Imma just tag a bunch of you regulars who were raving about the re-issue of Weighing Souls in the hope you guys and girls see it. My threads tend to sink.
@andi, @Eliminator Jr., @omik11303, @JRHews, @GHOSTDRONES, @anchorlessbodies, @drds89, @ephemeral
I'll DM Derek cos his silly ™ makes him hard to tag

So I spotted this through a friend and haven't seen anything about it anywhere yet possibly because the pre-orders not live just yet but according to the net pre-sales start in early October which is only a few days away and the box is supposedly out by December.
Burning World Records is set to release a box set of the complete works of cult favourites The Angelic Process on vinyl in December 2017. Included in the box, titled We All Die Laughing, set will be all material the band deemed fit for release starting with … And Your Blood Is Full Of Honey from 2001 and ending with Weighing Souls With Sand from 2007 that was released earlier on vinyl by Roadburn Records (2007) and Burning World Records (2016).
The box set will contain:
… And Your Blood Is Full Of Honey LP (2001) Coma Waering LP (2003) Sigh EP LP (2006) We All Die Laughing LP (2006) Weighing Souls With Sand 2LP (2007) So 6 slabs of vinyl in total, all with new artwork by Maurice de Jong (Gnaw Their Tongues) who already did the re-issues of Coma Waering and Weighing Souls With Sand. The first 100 copies sold on our website will also include a cd with the material of the Solipsis promo cd the band send to a couple of labels at the time.
The box set will also be available in a digital form with most of the material being available for the first time ever.
Pre-sales will start in October.
I'll post a link once it goes up.
Already hopped on Coma Waering and Weighing Souls re-issues but this is an easy double dip for me. Hoping I get in that first hundred, this will probably be heinously expensive to import but I'm a sucker for Angelic Process.

Got my copy today. Clear with all sorts of junk splashed over it. Looks really cool in person. Also, after one thorough listen, album is shaping up to be great.

Re: Etchings; I think its just a way that labels try to beautify a side that would otherwise be blank when the music won't fit on 2 sides but doesn't need more than 3.
As far as NPR is concerned, I feel they have in general an acceptably humane leaning with less bias than any other news source I've received. It may have been a reach to mention the Burzum thing but I don't find any problem in it. Sometimes it doesn't hurt to remind the audience where someone stands especially if its important enough to the artist to make it clear the first time. Maybe it was the writer's dilemma to use real examples of their featured artist's history to make the genre association clear but also to retain the political separation between the artist being discussed and one of the examples of said artists' source of genre influence.
And not to stir shit, but I always feel a bit uneasy when people express an intimidation to what they call Social Justice Warriors. I can agree that there is a level of political correctness that goes too far technically and only serves to hinder a supposed SJW's ability to properly identify and keep tabs on its antagonists but if the way in which someone insults another is by referring to them as a SOCIAL JUSTICE warrior, what is it about social justice that makes that person uneasy? It just seems like its goes against a basic level of decency in humanity to have such an issue with social justice, whether its propagated by so-called "warriors" of that cause or not. I guess I'm saying it doesn't bode well to put such a negative slant on such a phrase.

I'm in EU and this variant is distributed as 'indie-exclusive' over here. Bought at my local. Also no indication whatsoever on the sticker concerning variants. I was expecting the standard black, so this was a nice surprise!
Don't forget to switch to 45rpm ;-) I did, of course..

You might find some good recommendations sifting through the query in the link below:
http://forums.stevehoffman.tv/search/43485701/?q=Best+reissues&o=relevance&c[title_only]=1
People over there are often concerned with pressing quality and A-Bs of reissues vs. originals. There's also a lot of smartassing and butthurt going on, but that's the internet.
