As far as I understand, we don't. I could be way off base here, but I believe it's just that there would need to be some liquid for life to evolve, and water is thought to be pretty abundant. My understanding is that we use the "Earth" model because it's would have the highest possibility of having life "as we know it"

I really enjoyed the first season but I found myself getting angry about the first episode of season 2. The places he gets to go to and the things he gets to do are even more amazing than the first season. I would kill to get half the opportunities that this dudes gets.
