"Mint" has nothing to do with a record being opened or not even according to Goldmine Standards which is what everyone should be going by. It has to do with it being in literally perfect flawless condition which is frankly next to impossible as there will always be some sort of "imperfection" (e.g. hairline paper scuffs, off-center label(s), etc.)
