rabbitvinyl reacted to SNEAKORDS in (PO SOON?) : Turnstile - Glow On
i dunno, I'm a fan of BBNG and I dig it. it's definitely not needed, but I see this more as a BBNG release, that's what they do, reinterpret music they like. I would be surprised if turnstile did anything more than supply the vocal stems.

HELLA YEAH! Been waiting for this for so long. Splatter looks great, very excited to get a copy!

Reading the last couple pages was way worse than the offending Taco Bell commercial in question.
And no matter how often I hear that song, no matter where or in what context, I cannot help but fuckin' groove along with it. What a great riff - end of story!

So um... i got my Revolver copy in yesterday. Kinda don't care about having a magazine i've never heard of that's numbered out of 250, but whatever. Finally have a copy of the record. Pretty cool, i guess... right guys?

I missed out on the pre-order for this thinking it wouldn't sell out (oops!) but luckily found a copy at a local store last week. I gotta say: it sounds fucking fantastic! The three set LP is a bit annoying IMO (because of all the flipping) but I like that they kept all the artwork for each separate EP. Some of these tracks are Mogwai's best, it's so nice to finally have them in my collection.
The magical chaos of Christmas Steps playing during the first big snowfall is what it's all about.

Thanks a lot! I see you're in Montreal from your profile. I think we're trying to come out that way in November, I think we're trying to setup a show with Crabe.

A little shameless self-promotion here. I joined a math rock band 6 months ago and we just released our new album. We did a pretty limited vinyl run if anyone is interested.
We've been described as being "Tera Melos for stoners" by Fecking Bahamas.

Gotta agree, it's not great. There are a few fantastic tracks and then the rest feels like fuzzed out, 80s dad-rock with cringeworthy lyrics. So many people are praising Blue Spade and World Stops Turning, but those are some of my least favourite on the record. Also not a fan of the guitar solos.
If they stuck with the same formula as they did with tracks like Familiar Drugs, Conditional Love, Survivor's Guilt, Committed to the Con, then it would feel like a natural progression for the band. But with the other tracks sprinkled in, it feels like all of the worst parts of their side projects rolled into one.
Still, I'm glad they're back and it brings me great joy to see them enjoying themselves again.

thanks for support everyone!
we had a bit of a rocky launch because of a few asshole flippers hacking their cart and tons of orders coming through just before 11... we had to pull the store down last minute and cancel everything.
we really want to make it fair to everyone so our fulfilment team were (still are!) going through orders to cancel multiples... and in the event robert, eric or michelle are reading this - i will absolutely cancel every order you place with us moving forward

Well...I'm certainly glad I didn't pre-order this now. This is a huge step down from the lead single.

I think what’s on Spotify is the older masters and the bandcamp link above is the remasters. They sounded fairly different last night when I was comparing.
I have so many POs I’m waiting on so what’s one more haha

Silent Alarm and Weekend in the City are the top tier Bloc Party albums but Intimacy and Four were pretty okay. I like the new single.

Just received my copy from ANOST this afternoon. Spinning it now and it's gorgeous as usual! Lots of key-clacking goodness, sweet melodies and just all around lovely tunes. A triumphant ending to this trilogy! I prefer this one to "Lost" but it still doesn't edge out Pino. Still great though.
There's also one song that has a Christmas-y vibe to it, which is very fitting considering the first snow happened today This guy can do no wrong.

Can't wait for dine alone to post the solid colored, 10-dollar cheaper versions within a week.

The sky-blue S/T arrived today (hooray perks of living in the same city as their distro) and it looks quite nice. But the real exciting part is how it sounds! It's like I'm 12 again. The old mastering just feels right to me. If you were at all disappointed with the re-mastered version, this copy will definitely make you happy!
I was a bit afraid after taking it out because I noticed a cluster of tiiiny indents/almost punctures? halfway through side A, but it plays through just fine somehow. Phew!

Excited to get this original master soon.
I remember seeing them in 2002 in a tiny venue with my best bud and like...30 people there and bought the CD directly from them a few days before it came out. Absolute nostalgia trip for me!

Thanks! I already have Crisis, Watch Out! and Old Crows but was just really excited about getting the original mixes on the S/T
Side note, what a dick move to announce one "limited" pressing and then even more limited ones the next goddamn day. Oh well, it's a good thing Newbury doesn't ship here because it helps with the disappointment.
EDIT: Ah shit, looks like they do ship here nowadays.
