Universal Beings E&F Sides
by Makaya McCravenhttps://intlanthem.bandcamp.com/album/universal-beings-e-f-sides
*Limited Edition of 555* 140-gram Pellucid Mahogany color vinyl LP (pressed by Pallas in Germany) inside a heavyweight matte jacket (artwork by Damon Locks), plus insert sheet and dome patterned inner-sleeve.
An addendum to Makaya McCraven's critically-acclaimed 2018 release Universal Beings, which The New York Times said "affirms the drummer and beatsmith's position as a major figure in creative music," Universal Beings E&F Sides presents fourteen new pieces of organic beat music cut from the original sessions, prepared and produced by Makaya as a soundtrack to the Universal Beings documentary film.
Ordered this with the quickness yesterday. Universal Beings was a favorite of 2018.

More in stock at TTL...just snagged one.

In for a Black 180 gram.....prices definitely on the higher side. That being said, it does have a solid 75 minutes worth of music.

All War on Drugs vinyl is pressed off center. Every. Single. Album. Secretly Canadian releases are known for it.
I've got two copies of Lost in a Dream and both are crap because of the pressing being off center. However, they're not on Secretly Canadian for A Deeper Understanding, they're on Atlantic.

This album is also in the VMP store under the Sale section for $53.

QFT.
So did we figure out if this VMP reissue has all the samples of the OG edition of Ready To Die? It's basically the only thing holding me back from resubscribing.
The only thing I have heard is VMP said on Twitter that it's the "definitive version".

Jumped on that deluxe /100 before it sold out. Really looking forward to this one.

I think I still have this on VHS somewhere. I was a senior in high school when Badmotorfinger dropped. Instantly made me go dig up Screaming Life, Ultramega OK, and Loud Love which quickly became favorites. This early period of their music will always be special to me. Massive loss today...

I haven't heard this album in ages but back in the day, I loved it. I hope it holds up.

Rough TradeVerified account @RoughTrade 4h
Copies of the blue LP are sold out on pre-order, BUT all Rough Trade Shops will have copies instore day of release:
That's actually pretty cool that they are keeping copies for walk-in traffic.

There is at least one copy, maybe more, of the The Sundays "Blind" 25th Anniversary RSD up at Bullmoose:

Looks like Rough Trade is sold out of the blue again.

I've ordered from Rise, RecordStore, and Rough Trade. Let's see if at least one of these can pan out...

It seems likely they oversold and a good amount of people will be getting their money back, including myself.
Awww, bummer. Seemed to good to be true that everywhere else was cleared out but they still had copies.
Thanks for the heads up.

Alright man, what's the scoop with recordstoreuk? I ordered the blue version earlier which now seems to have been pulled.

For an album titled Murder Ballads, their vinyl color choice sucks.

Digging this new Here Lies Man from Riding Easy Records. Between a friend's testament and the awesome description below, I was totally in. Received the album yesterday it's pretty badass. There are still a few copies of the clear /200 available.
What if Black Sabbath played Afrobeat? In short, that’s the underlying vibe to the self-titled debut by Here Lies Man. The L.A. based quintet is founded and conceptualized by Marcos Garcia of Antibalas, bringing his erudite experience of West African rhythms and music to the more riff-based foundations of heavy rock. The results are an incredibly catchy and refreshing twist on classic forms, without sounding forced and trite like some sort of mash-up attempt. Here Lies Man merges and expands musical traditions organically, utilizing the talents of drummer Geoff Mann (son of jazz musician Herbie Mann) and a host of skilled musicians to make Garcia’s vision a reality.

seriously though, I would have bought it in an instant if it was LP or 2xLP. flipping every 5 mins = no thx
This my main turnoff to the album on vinyl as well. Otherwise the packaging looks great but would love to have seen 2LP instead.

I'd imagine it's just like the UO clear version - no 7", no rotating covers.
Gotcha. I saw that the standard Sub Pop LPs were going to include 7" for preorder....didn't know if preorders from other retailers would be this way as well.
-
Anyone happen to know if the VMP version will include the bonus 7" also?

Sucks that they'd send two exact same packs. I'm always wary of things like that with grab bag deals. For just one pack, the Relapse grab bag seems pretty decent, though. I got a number of things I've been putting off buying for a while and, on the plus side, 2LP releases didn't count for 2 of the 10.
Christian Mistress - Possession
Opprobrium (Incubus)- Serpent Temptation
Goblin Rebirth - Goblin Rebirth
Bloodiest - st
Zombi - Cosmos
The Great Tyrant - The Trouble With Being Born
Coffins/Ilsa split
Zombi - Spirit Animal
Zombi - Shape Shift
Windhand - Grief's Infernal Flower
Me and a friend each got these exact same albums. Only one duplicate for me with the Windhand.

I got the Kikagaku Moyo session on vinyl and it came out as advertised. Great pressing.
