From my own personal experience in collecting the past 15 years and becoming stressed out about many of the same things you are, here are some things that helped me more recently:
I try to keep my collection under 500 records, this is my own personal comfortability threshold, physically & financially. I don't want to deal with 20 Kallax units worth of records. As I approach the 500 number in order to justify buying more, I've got to sell 10-20 to make room. Usually by that point, its pretty easy to find a few to weed out as I get tired of them I used to be so worried about "resale value" and keeping them pristine. I had poly sleeves for every record and each time id take one out to play it was such a process. I threw them all out one day and said fuck it, if I'm gonna enjoy it I'm gonna enjoy it. If some asshole wants to buy one of my records down the line he'll get some wear, whatever. This decision has helped my personal enjoyment immensely Good luck, hope you find what you're looking for.

Record collecting can be and is a pain in the ass hobby depending on what type of person you are. 
 
If you're in it for the love of the music and the artists/bands and don't care for condition of jackets and sleeves (as long as not completely trashed & wrecked), you'll be happy to listen to the record itself given that it's clean and plays. 
 
If you're an OCD completist asshole...like I tend to be with certain bands & artists...then you can and will be on a long road of heartbreak & disappointment and questioning your role in the hobby and the potential loss of "fun". 
 
I can understand & relate to the OP's post and all subsequent responses and replies. The older we get, priorities in life shift and change, but it's all matter of being able to make time (and money) for the things that bring you some sort of respite and enjoyment. If you feel that record collecting is now having a negative effect on your self and life...then you may want to reassess things and even consider getting help. And I don't mean that as an insult. It's a legitimate thing to consider. I have a friend who ran a label and worked at a record store and was a serious collector. He reached a point where he was stressing out majorly over getting all variants of his favorite bands' releases and being a completist as much as possible. It became a compulsion. He recognized this was causing a problem in his life so he sought professional help. He eventually came to grips with things and sold off a chunk of his collection and learned to manage the stress of it all. He's in a much better place now and is happier.

Agreed. I think of the time and money I spent collecting Against Me variants, then look at the shit I could have (and should have) bought for $15-$20 while it was in print and everywhere. Now a lot of those records are impossible to find for under $100-$200, and I'm sitting here selling duplicate copies of Disco Before The Breakdown at cost.  😂

Can’t please everyone but this person seems remarkably underwhelmed with the end product.

I mean, I literally admitted to owning a little sliver of nu metal in my own collection.  I listen to a spectrum of genres and never claimed that "my genre can beat up your genre" or whatever dumb shit you're on about.  People can and should listen to whatever they want... where was that disputed?  I shared a real-world memory affiliated with the artist and album in question, and got accused of trying to be edgy or cool.  So I spoke to that accusation and now it's spiraled to this point.  Not once did I tout "lmao imagine buying this record in 2021 haha garbage tastes ITT sheeeesh".   I still think the genre as a whole is the bread and butter for hormonal preteens and dudes who sip on Rockstars in their modded Honda Civics, but that stance shouldn't inhibit you from pre-ordering this album if you so choose.  You're as welcome to enjoy this LP as much as I am to voice my thoughts on it.  No cute gif or Youtube clip to deflect here – I really don't know how I could be more clear.  If that's pretentious, I dunno what to tell you.
 
Yeah, I think my friends caught them at a stadium with some pretty high-end effects and setup.  I'm not one for arena shows either, and would much prefer to have a small / intimate show with a great view than a flashy one I need binoculars for.

LOL at anyone who thought that this sub membership whatever would launch without a hitch. From the reading of things so far...it sounds like a grift to move along stock that wasn't going to sell and/or isn't selling at all.
