  1. While this definitely isn't anywhere near a perfect record I wouldn't call it uninspired. All of the downbeat / depressing songs that may go against their normal thing (Not Easy, This World, Broken, Black Sky) are still pretty rad. Of course there are just as many others on there that probably shouldn't have been recorded at all, but comparing it to Percolator is funny cause I've always felt that aside from Breathe the entire b-side of Percolator is maybe ALL's lowest moment.
  2. I took advantage of all the Hastings going out of business and scored these racks for $100. If you've got the room I highly recommend pillaging a Hastings for some. The drawers each have two rows. The bottom ones weirdly aren't tall enough for LPs (they're like a half inch too short), but they fit three rows of 7"s pretty perfectly. Very stoked on this shit...
  3. Whole thing is streaming too... http://uproxx.com/music/direct-hit-wasted-mind-premiere-stream-interview/
  4. fyi... ordered from amazon and got the blue and white.
  5. since this is already bumped... new Direct Hit tune/video is up...
  6. huh?... "But then, oh snap, you got that ADT. Now the boys in blue are all out to get me. Dick move. It’s cool, I still got your stuff, dude."
  7. I read this before listening and didn't expect it to be so accurate. It's more than a little! Haha... But I kinda love it.
  8. Just throw new stuff in with the 10" pic. Haha... Not that there's much more for you to get. I only see a couple things I've got not in that pic (though you definitely have way more than me all around).
  9. It's mixed now! You can record over it with the update.
  10. agree to disagree... it's starts off fine, but then the second half falls into randomness of kinda cheesy stuff (burndt jam, fall together) or what sounds like green leftovers (pretty much everything else). i'm not saying it's a bad record, but it's anything but consistent or cohesive. it just sounds like a random selection of songs without much of a flow. total skip-around album as opposed to something i'd put on and listen to as a whole. and let's not forget those leads. oh man....
  11. Maladroit? I feel like that was their first scattered album. Haha...
  12. I got the Gimmes "Stevie" on pink as the 15th. Also got "Xmas Has Been X'd" and "in the stocks" instead of "stoked" and diesel boy.
  13. This fucking argument... In 1993 when they signed that contract this game of reissue labels wasn't a thing. In fact, the worry you had with a major in this respect was the opposite: that they would shelve the record and never let it go! i think I said this in the against me thread, but not every band has the means or want to release their own record. To want to make music and not run a record label shouldn't be a finger point of the blame or negate a band's grievances. Whether perfectly legally or not, it's not unreasonable for a band to expect some respect from those handling their material.
  14. Zoom out. If the wave forms were really just cut off like that it would be more noise and distortion than music.
  15. in 2007 this trend of small labels going around bands to license their releases wasn't really a thing yet, and definitely wasn't what one thought about when signing with a label. majors at the time were in fact known for the opposite: it was too expensive and difficult to try licensing from them. then shit collapsed in music and things changed... but it's silly to say that anyway cause every band who lets a label pay for their recording is technically setting themselves up for this (and i've seen labels big and small cut out the bands when it comes to repressing records). not all bands can or want to self release their shit. and you can't see the future and how someone you trust might do something shitty. it doesn't mean the band has less right to be upset when someone does said shittiness.
  16. it took me almost 20 years to track down a VBF split, but i finally snagged one last week!...
  17. i know this will just stir shit in this thread, so apologies in advance, but listening to her on the "turned out a punk" podcast it didn't sound like she was even informed of this repress. she didn't sound too happy about it.
  18. Yeah, that's the first press. And people did call that coke bottle clear then, but it wasn't like a choice when you got records pressed. Just some plant's clears looked like that, some were the super clear. And to get nerdy since the opportunity is here, there were also some cool, really district transitional colors in that first press. Here's a pink I kept, and even my clear still has a bunch of red streaks. There was a baby blue too.
