Went for it--what the hell. -
I just received this response from Kevin at Captured Tracks: "Thanks for getting in touch! We don't have a specific pre-order date targeted just yet - we're still working out production logistics on all the various components. Once we have an idea of a safe turnaround on all those, we'll be able to lock in a date. "Feel free to try back in a few weeks if we still haven't posted anything - things are progressing one day at a time right now, but we're getting there. Thanks, Kevin"

Albums That Should Be Pressed on Vinyl
slipcraig replied to chutterhanban's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
Th' Faith Healers, "Lido" -
I signed up for emails from NMH at least a year ago. Didn't think they'd ever reproduce more of the boxes, but was I ever surprised when I received that email this morning. HOLY SHIT! It's mine! Just saw them last week in Seattle--it was fanfuckingtastic. Even bought one of those Jeff hand-drawn T-shirts.

From http://archersofloaf.fanbridge.com/campaigns/show.php?id=1174235: After a 12 year hiatus, the Archers of Loaf reformed in 2011 to play some old songs for fans old and new, and to show off the chemistry and energy that exists to this day between these four friends who met back in 1990 in the small town of Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Brian Paulson, the band's dear friend and producer / engineer of "All the Nations Airports" and "White Trash Heroes," was on hand to capture the moment for two nights of performances at the infamous Cat's Cradle. Documentarian, writer, and director Gorman Bechard and his crew captured this energy along with some choice interviews with the band members in his concert documentary entitled "What Did You Expect?" Now, four years later, the Archers are making a limited edition vinyl pressing of that weekend entitled "Curse of the Loaf" available direct to their fans in mid-July through Port Merchandise. The double vinyl gatefold package consists of 180 gram black vinyl, a copy of the "What Did You Expect?" DVD, and a replica of the original concert poster designed by artist Paul Friedrich. Each of the 2500 packages is hand-numbered in gold foil for authenticity. A presale of the double LP will be made available during the first week of June. Tracklisting: Side One - Audiowhore / Harnessed in Slums / Dead Red Eyes / Worst Defense / Attack of the Killer Bees / 1985 / Fabricoh Side Two - Greatest of All Time / Lowest Part is Free / Freezing Point /What Did You Expect? / You and Me / Might Side Three - Bacteria / Web in Front / Nostalgia / Slow Worm /Step Into the Light Side Four - Wrong / Plumbline / Revenge /Scenic Pastures /Form and File / All Hail the Black Market

PO: Soul Coughing reissues on Rhino
slipcraig replied to ExtraFox's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
HOLY FUCK. I love Soul Coughing. Strange anecdote. I was listening to a live session of Sylvan Esso on KEXP when the DJ asked them who they listen to on the road in the van. She said they listen to Soul Coughing more than anything else. Mad respect.- 28 replies

It was a great show. Only the third time I've seen them in 28 years, and I plan to see them every chance I get going forward. -

PO: Sufjan Stevens - Carrie & Lowell (3/31/15)
slipcraig replied to Burkazoid's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
I made the mistake of listening to this album this morning after spending the day with my eldest brother in the hospital yesterday. He had heart ablation performed. Went well, but still, hearing "We're all gonna die" today precipitated some lachrymosity. -

Oh, I get it now. The forum won't let us use the word "slyniv" spelled backward. Bravo to the forum administrator.
