Popped in hoping for a vinyl update or at least thoughtful discussion of the new track, I should have known better 😣 Hoping the rest of the album is more dynamic than FI is. The well rounded folks over at r/toolband all love it of course.

Pretty underwhelmed with the new track, unfortunately. Finding it odd how far back in the mix MJK's vocals are. Figured it'd only last for a minute in the intro and they'd come in big and aggressive, but he kinda just hangs back there moaning indiscriminately for the entire song. Actually a lot of the mix is weird, especially at the end when the volume jumps around. Even switched over to my external DAC to make sure it wasn't my PC reproducing it shittily. Finding the guitars lacking anything real interesting either unfortunately. Sounds like myself (a shitty guitarist) jamming with a heavy fuzz pedal on. Hoping things pick up with the rest of the album or at that it at least doesn't sound like an amateur mixed it.

HD doesn't mean shit on a 4" in screen with a 2" speaker. Hopefully there's a way to pull the video off the device.

Showed up today, more of a frosted color than clear. Spinning now, really actually loving the female vocals, I'd listened to Tycho a number of times before but it usually just makes me want to listen to Boards of Canada Production/mix and vinyl mastering are all really good, it's a treat to the ears.
