  1. ...speaking of which. Just the other day I found my duplicate side A/B Rainbow in a sleeve. Should probably ship that back. I'm a horrible person.
  2. Probably is boarding a plane. A ton of my vinyl comes in through Bell Gardens (I do live in CA, but pretty much everything goes in/out from there). I took a fun little stats class where we focused a month on logistics and they pointed out that in some circumstances depending on weight and number of packages going to one central node, it's justified (lower cost to them) to fly the package over driving it.
  3. I just need this to not sell out before tomorrow. I keep $100-ish each month for records and I'm immediately caving on this...
  4. This: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Bernie-Sanders-Thurston-Moore-Feel-It-In-Your-Guts-JNR-190-/152124206895?hash=item236b4f2f2f:g:DMoAAOSwnFZXW0Mi and all the others listing the same thing.... in case you don't know much about the release, all you had to do was donate to Sander's Campaign, then send a screenshot of the donation to the label for a free copy. The song is bassically about things like the evils of loving money and several other things. The hypocrisy is just a little toooooo strong for me. Get historic record for cheap donation, then sell it for $200.
  5. Interesting. Unfortunately don't have really HiFi shops near me, almost all are in L.A. or near the Beach. Might have to look around.
  6. Yo..... since the vinyl isn't out till July I thought it was a mistake, but I got a download code. Will give it a listen on my commute tomorrow.
  7. Just another case of the "New VC server clones posts" blues.
  8. Don't know if there's a separate thread for this kinda thing, but I wanted to share some tips on how to save money buying a new setup (I did my lazy first 3 pages of search and found nothing). I just realized last night I'm actually a pretty good online shopper. Basically I just managed to grab a Audio Engine N22 Desktop Amp for $110 and got a Pro-Ject Debut Carbon DC for $270. Net-savings on those two items: $260 (counting tax in CA + shipping). I also managed to save $250 dollars on my last computer desktop build with some of these tricks. So trick #1: Save up for the full price of whatever expensive thing your heart desires, but don't buy it just yet.... instead, wait around and look for sales, like the ones below. Trick #2: Look for "Open-Box" Sales. Both of the aforementioned items were in such a category. Generally that just means some picky person got it, opened the box, and then for some reason returned it, and usually not because it was defective. We're talking they bought it on credit and realized they can't afford it, or they wanted to cancel, but it was already in the mail. In the case of my amp, it specified it had all the original packaging and cables, they were right. It even had all 3 bags that the amp, cables, power cables come in. So literally brand new for $90 off. Trick #3: Use sites like camelcamelcamel.com (yeah I know that's the worst name for a website ever).... It basically allows you to see a graph of historic Amazon Prices for an item. It's really handy because you can tell if it's an item that regularly goes on sale, what time those sales are (Christmas, etc.), and also allows you to set up notifications for the item. So I could just say "Tell me when this Turntable drops below $350" and it will shoot me an email when that happens. If you're into computery stuff pcpartpicker.com is another great one for this, as it list all prices of an items for handfuls of stores, including rebates. (They also keep track of things like Headphones, Speakers and DACs). Trick #4: Always google "<insert website here> coupons" before checking out. More often than not, there will be one I find that saves me a few bucks. Anyways... got any other tips for this kind of thing? I would love to know if you guys have any cool online shopping tips.
  9. Awesome thanks. I was wondering if mine would ship later because of it.
  10. It's all over the place. For example The Color and Sound is a really nice indie/pop-punk band to other Lo-Fi/Experimental bands. Look it up on Bandcamp. I was honestly almost tempted to buy 2 of these lol. You guys rock. Is there some magic way to add a tip to this?
  11. Nice. I ordered a Fawn & Field. Didn't know it was transparent, but it looks really good. Did you order the 7" too Figgy Pudding?
  12. Yeah? I don't grab that much from Asian Man in all honesty. Wonder why I haven't about from Winter Break (their cover has been streamed elsewhere, pretty good) or MoBo. And it says they are releasing a 7" next YEAR. So I don't know if I would place such a bet.
  13. Yep. I got it mostly because I've been wanting to round out my MoBo & Spraynard Collections and I keep really need the Fest Split and Strength in Weakness comp. Couldn't let another 1 time press slip by.
  14. Managed to grab a "Celestial Blue/Violet" I honestly didn't even know which variant was which, but they're all out of /100 or /150.
  15. This is a one time pressing of 600 Records. This will never be pressed again. All songs are unreleased. The concept? Asian Man bands covering other asian man bands. And yes, we will be putting out a modern baseball 7" next year, so they are 2 legit 2 quit. TRACK LISTING: Side A 1.Antarctico Vespucci-Stormy Weather(Kepi) 2.The Murderburgers-Self Esteem(AJJ) 3.All People-Table Settings(Colossal) 4.Warm Thoughts-Ultraman(The Chinkees) 5.Great Apes-Last Strike(Classics of Love) 6.Winter Break-Controlling Animals(The Chinkees) 7.Kevin Seconds-Goodbye Forever(Alkaline Trio) Side B 1.Modern Baseball-The Quark(Hard Girls) 2.Jeff Rosenstock-X-Mas Card(MU330) 3.Powernap-Gun Show(Classics of Love) 4.Dog Party-Brain Scrambling Device(Kepi) 5.Dowsing-San Francisco(Alkaline Trio) 6.Laura Stevenson-Do Something(Smoking Popes) 7.Spraynard-KKK Hiway(MU330) 1st and only pressing ever: 150 BURG/PURPLE 150 BLUE/PURPLE(RECORD CLUB Exclusive) 100 GEMSTONE/PURPLE 100 CELESTIAL BLUE/VIOLET 100 DARK BLUE/LIGHT BLUE http://asianmanrecords.storenvy.com/collections/234988-new-releases/products/1143864-asian-man-music-for-asian-man-people-vol-2-lp So yeah.... this is legit. Modern Baseball 7" later this year too.
  16. This. I'd read this several times on other forums and it does a decent job at explaining inner groove distortion (paragraph 8) amongst other things. If a record label could care less about how the LP comes out, then many of these things may be neglected. But if you come across an artist that cares, then they will split it up on 2xLP when any of these limitations of vinyl become a problem.
  17. Nice... I was waiting for a song before I bought this.... it's pretty good. Any idea where I can grab a copy of the Grief 7"? Didn't see any on discogs.
  18. Got both my 2nd Press Edition in on Saturday. Both are amazing and without seam split (there was a tiny beginning of one on Hello Rockview). Sounds great, comic is awesome!
  19. Hmmm.... well thanks for explaining it guys. Still just saying, I would prefer a single LP just because it's easier for me to justify and I would rather have the bare album as opposed to never having it because I didn't have the money at the time (and certainly not the $200 that these will go for later).
  20. I really love Decomposer and it has a sweet spot for me, but eh. Again, just give me a single LP and I'm good. Didn't get EVDKTL either so doesn't phase me to pass it up.
  21. I have the same feeling. I really like the first side, but I think Brandon's side is stronger, yet it's so short. I'm hoping for a B-Sides (don't think there are any) album.
  22. Bundle ordered..... got the splatter variant.
  23. You know, I'm kinda surprised not that many people know about this website, but http://camelcamelcamel.com/ is awesome. Bassically you just put in an amazon link (and several other stores) and it gives you a price drop history, and allows you to recieve notifications if it does go down. I mostly use it on computer stuff to save on bigger ticket items, but it could help someone who wants to watch record prices....
