  1. I fucking love this album. Chino is in amazing voice and these may be some of my favorite contributions from Frank Delgado. Probably has fewer hallmarks of Stephen Carpenter's guitar playing than most of their albums...the ones that are there really stand out. There were even a few songs I didn't like at first that just came together by the end. If you don't like it at first, give it a chance, and a little time to grow on you.
  2. Are there any presale passwords for their tour with Refused?
  3. After a lifetime of not liking Kiss at all...I've come to appreciate them some. What record should I pick up first?
  4. Howard played lights out last night, until he was hung out to dry in overtime. Nice to see him back to his old self, but I think he needs a new start somewhere.
  5. Leave it to the Wings to outshoot a team 2-1 and still lose in a shootout.
  6. I've never seen Iggy. I may as well bite the bullet and try and get a ticket. I can't even really afford the ATDI tickets I'm buying tomorrow as it is, though...
  7. That Suicide Machines show was the absolute worst that place has ever been. I'm not sure if there was another contributing factor, besides being oversold, but in 15 years of going there, that was truly the worst. I'm actually a little surprised it wasn't at ROTM or State. I'm not mad about St Andrews, though. I just hope it's not a bitch to get tickets.
  8. I occasionally get sent 20% off coupons from guitar center. I'm thinking of using the next one on an Orange Dark Micro Dark Terror Dark. Kinda like the small size/headphone jack/effects loop since I live in a crowded human filing cabinet. Anybody had one? Thoughts?
  9. I've been waiting to hear it until I could really sit and soak it in. I love this record.
  10. UHF is a great place to buy expensive ass imports. Underground Sounds is a great shop - mostly sells new vinyl, prices are pretty good and there's a pretty good selection considering the size. As mentioned, Encore is a few blocks away on Liberty. Mostly used vinyl, also not bad price wise, but is a lot more "picked over." A couple blocks from that, on State, is Wazoo, which is smaller than Underground but has a mix of new and used. Pretty decent place for used finds. Lastly, about a ten minute walk from that is PJs on Packard. It's hit or miss. I've had some good finds there, but the pricing is crazy sometimes.
  11. Nah. There's nothing you NEED at Third Man. It's just a fun, tacky little distraction. Kinda neat. I think anything they sell, you can probably get on the website.
  12. Third Man is cool for the novelty of it. The Sun and Tamla reissues are pretty cool, and they have a new Gories 7" which is awesome and you should buy.
  13. That's really ignoring a lot, but okay. What do you want? The reason people really love the Evil Dead franchise is invariably some combination of Bruce Campbell, one-liners, humor/slapstick, and gnarly gross deadite killing. They've done a fair job of introducing new plot elements into the universe in my view. The whole thing with Lucy Lawless, Eligos, them being pursued by the police... It adds enough to make it worth watching, without needlessly complicating what people really want to see anyway.
  14. I appreciate you making a post on this board, Dan. It makes me feel like I haven't wasted my time by briefly scrolling through it for threads that I actually want to see, like this one. It put a little spring in my step today. Thanks dude!
  15. I'd see Rob Zombie. I've seen him before. Sounds terrible, but his shows are an incredibly ridiculous spectacle. Also Ghost, Clutch, and I've never seen The Sword. They're playing a club near my house soon anyway though. Still haven't heard their terrible new record!
  16. I know so many people that go to Rock on the Range. It's so bad every year. I really, REALLY want to see ATDI though...and maybe four other bands from that whole garbage lineup :-/
  17. I talked my way in when they stopped letting people, right before the Gories played. Got all but one of the Tamla reissues and the new Timmy's Organism record, PLUS a new Gories 7". They ruled and were loud as fuck.
  18. If vinyl pellets weren't being mined with slave labor, records would easily cost 3-4 times as much as it is.
