Yeah! The box did NOT disappoint. I'll have to snap some pics and share them on the forum some day. Honestly the inability to upload pics make it a bit more of a pain to share images here. I'm up to 67 test pressings, too. 

I scored a Solace test pressing today! If you guys don't care no one else will, so I came here to share the news cuz I'm excited.

We are in talks about Glassfield, but the timeline might not work out for MOMR because we have a LOT on our calendars for the coming months.  It will be released on vinyl either way, even if the band does it themselves.
 
For now, no plans for another Sunndrug LP.  We keep bugging them, but wouldn’t hold our breath!

I'm aware that it is important to get the master lacquer to the metal plating folks as quickly as possible. Masterdisk, who recommended VDP in the first place, will be overnighting my master lacquer to Paris. I am already committed to VDP so I'll have to just hope for the best at this point.

Scott Hull does great work you should be pleased, can't comment on the other 2 plants but gotta groove presses good records. There is some misinformation given to you GZ can cut from lacquer but I would not recommend cutting a lacquerer locally and shipping it to Europe you generally want the lacquer put to metal plating as quickly as possible

I would seek out the 2014 pressings cut by Kevin Gray, it was right before Epitaph bought out Jade Tree. Epitaph did not reuse these cuts unfortunately for the black and clear reissues, and while far from audiophile recordings these are the best the first 3 albums ever sounded to my ears.

I'm happy to report some progress. A friend had wisely advised me to make sure I had everything in hand (artwork, masters, possibly my own lacquer, money) before contacting the pressing company. I decided it was finally time to look at getting lacquers cut -- even though I was worried about getting a lacquer cut and nowhere to press it -- and finally talked to my mastering guy (Alex DeTurk, who is really great) and asked who he'd recommend to cut a lacquer and he referred me to Scott Hull at Masterdisk. This really broke the log jam.
 
Scott Hull is not cheap, but he's quite well known and Masterdisk has some of the best gear in the world. His secret weapon is his studio manager, Mickie Steier, who is super nice and friendly and who directly introduced me to 3 different contacts at three different pressing companies. She first mentioned Vinyl De Paris, saying they had done some 'beautiful test pressings.' She also said Microforum in Canada was good. And lastly, she connected me to someone at Gotta Groove. Mickie's introduction cleared away a lot of the suspicion I might otherwise have encountered by contacting these companies directly because they know she works at Masterdisk and that she's serious. It also reassured me to have her recommendation because Masterdisk knows what they are doing.
 
I contacted all 3 companies and learned that Gotta Groove currently has a 10-month turnaround time. Microforum estimated  26 to 28 weeks for turnaround (although I think they'll let you pay a rush fee to reduce this considerably) and VDP said their turnaround time was 14 weeks. I decided to go with VDP and have sent off my artwork. Unfortunately, everyone in Paris goes on vacation in August, so this will slow things down by 4 weeks, but I should receive my vinyl around November if all goes well. I've received my test lacquer from Scott Hull and I played it and I'm PUMPED.
 
My experience with Scott & Mickie at Masterdisk has been really encouraging, and VDP has been very helpful, too. They answer all my questions clearly and promptly, and I'm impressed with their attention to detail so far.

Got Laura Nyro, Rick Astley, Bardo Pond and then grabbed an Art Pepper at closing for the sweet deep employee discount. Also got the Tennis System in the mail from the GF Record Club. It was crazy working this year, the Taylor was a fiasco so we did a raffle and are giving our 14 copies away for free. Only felt sorry for one poor girl who stood in line for hours and was told the wrong info and to just get there early, so I may have folded her entry in a certain way to ensure it was pulled.

I had the last one in the store in my hands but ended up giving it to this girl who was inconsolably in tears when the shop owner told her they were all gone. I overheard the conversation & just broke my heart. The girl is the same age as my niece & reminded me immensely of her. It was obvious she’s more hardcore Swiftie than I & not a flipper. She started crying even more when I gave her the 7”. 
 
I believe in karma. So there’s my good deed for the year. 😉

That would be rad if they did another run. Maybe in a different color. Smart for business and also cuts down on the insanity. I'm all for Dischord making more money.
 

They will likely settle around $150-$200 (pure speculation) but with a nostalgia release of this magnitude it's liklely 90%+ of orders are to people who have been wanting this for years and would not want to sell after lusting after originals for so long. I finally got a chance and the whole set sounds wonderful (for what it is) and the packaging is otherworldy. One of my favorite records purchases in a long time, 13 year old me would hi five me so hard right now. I hope everyone is enjoying their sets just as much and I hope the unlucky few are able to find one for a reasonable price, I wouldn't even be mad if they did another run.
