  1. These guys should do a split with Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs.
  2. I think I liked the concept and execution of Possessor more than Infinity Pool, but I ended up watching the latter last night. It was still entertaining and hearing Hecker’s music in widescreen was pretty surreal. (I know he scored The North Water last year, but I haven’t seen it.)
  3. That silver-marble Repetition was super weird, I'm not totally convinced that you were slacking. Someone else can correct me if I'm misspeaking here, but I don't recall Numero ever had copies. Or if they did, they were very few. That variant was "Coming Soon" on their page for weeks and weeks, but something fucky was going on with distribution at the time... I swear you could only find it in Euro indie shops. It's a good thing we [the US] got a separate variant because I don't know anyone who actually scored a silver-black merge through Numero. Those clear Newbury LTIYs were up earlier in the week but must have sold out, because you're right – I'm not seeing them either. I recall them being $65 and that was before taxes and shipping... so literally $75 out the door, which is high even for Discogs' sale history. I'm sure they'll "find" a few more copies down the road for $80+ too. If you're set on getting one of those 2 LTIY variants, your best bet would probably just be eying Discogs or hoping someone here decides they want to cut back on variants for cheap. One will eventually surface at a fair price if you're diligent. Best of luck to ya'.
  4. Hey Ligma. What would you consider "reasonable"? I noticed that Newbury pulled their usual bullshit and recently stocked some more copies of their clear LTIY, but at a pretty spicy markup. 😒 Scarlette copies were probably close to $43 PPD from Numero, when they were up. It was never really a cheap double LP to begin with... but the quality is definitely worth it. Also just wanted to mention that myself and several others received two A/B sides when we first ordered Scarlette copies from Numero. They were quick to resolve that mixup, but it may be a bit of a dice roll if you go for a sealed copy of that variant in particular. Just something to consider.
  5. That really sucks to hear. I'm still waiting on my bundle to show up, but I know it includes shirts and there's no telling how it was all packaged. The whole "it's all about the music" argument is fine when you're talking about a singular dog-ear corner or some seam splitting... but I think you're well within your rights to be disappointed – and reach out to customer service – if you're dropping decent money to import something and it shows up completely mauled. All 4 corners in addition to seam splits is haggard. I'd ask for pics out of curiosity but I don't think I wanna' see that. Fortunately the band has said that they intend to keep these 2 variant replenished and available for as long as they can, so replacements should be pretty feasible if stock isn't limited or scarce.
  6. So 1 PO has completely busted Relapse's shit for 2 hours straight so far, huh? Alright.
  7. I'm not absolutely gutted if everything is gone by the time I get in – I do have an RSD variant of UYHS that looks and sound nice, and probably don't need all that extra material. [Tracks 11–30, or some portion of them, if you check the bandcamp page. For anyone wondering.] But this does not bode well for a potential Jupiter / Antenna reissue, which I would like to "upgrade" at some point.
  8. Pretty understandable that Relapse would crash under some traffic. Being a brand new label with a new website, who have never been exposed to heavy traffic for big releases before... makes sense that they wouldn't get it right on the first go.
  9. Those shirts available anywhere online by chance?
  10. When was it locked? Also, notices this and how? Do people set page monitors for all their favorite bands or something?
  11. I think what I dig most about this project so far is that it is undeniably its own thing. None of these singles sound like they could be featured on a game show of Is It Owen or American Football? That could be a detractor for some, but I think it’s pretty fresh. Great art and variants, too.
  12. +1 more post to whine about that pricing, sheesh. It clearly had no problem selling out on Bandcamp or SB’s site, but damn. By comparison, I preordered Tim Hecker’s latest 2LP – another drone album due this year – about a week ago. $22 before $6 shipping. Granted, not colored vinyl, I think I prefer spending < 50% for the same format if it’s at the cost of color. 180 gram is not a marketable feature. What does a “laminate gatefold” constitute? Just like a glossy finish? I’m trying to fathom why the base price is so gnarly on this thing. Nothing else about the description would suggest it’s anything particularly fancy.
  13. Great to hear. I thought I was getting mine on Saturday but it looks like Monday it is. I really can't guess what the odds of a full boxset are. On paper, not too likely... especially with the release of that standalone book. I feel like they could have combined that as an exclusive for a vinyl boxset, sort of like how the CD boxset had its own book. It would take a lot to triple-dip on these records, but now is probably the time to do it, after everyone has coughed up for individual represses over the last few years and the band is touring again. If they did a full on boxset, what would you like to see it? In terms of content, bells & whistles, etc.
  14. Very nice. How’s that sound, all things considered? I feel like we’ll get something “new” from Unwound this year – a new album or a full discography boxset are my biggest guesses.
  15. I know you’re just taking the piss but I think I read that he had a pretty big falling-out with his church, unless I’m mistaken. Quite a while back, I thought.
  16. Really thought we'd never see the day, but someone somewhere nudged the band into believing there's enough interest to finally get these pressed. I know this band has been a pretty big staple in many folks' post-rock library, and I've personally wanted them for years. They are available individually, outside of a bundle, so don't fret. You can save $5 by ordering them all together with a copy of their last album, if that's your fancy. But here you go; I think the blue cornetto is pretty clever for STWHIFPH, but the "white-red galaxy" is at a 99% risk of just turning out pink, which would be a little underwhelming. We won't really know until October but that's one ambitious mockup.
  17. Oh yeah? They running some kind of sale? I’ve never seen a shop allow sale prices on POs but that’s promising if so.
  18. Which is not explicitly “clear”, which I’m pretty sure is what lostcrimes was probably alluding to.
  19. Jealous of anyone going into WATR for the very first time. Knowing your tastes you’ll be very pleased – that album was ahead of its time and has aged like wine, too. Let us know what you think. Gonna’ be tough to beat that as your Best Blind Buy of 2023.
  20. The gold is the indie variant and unequivocally the nicest variant of the bunch. Probably just going to preorder through Bull Moose and cancel if the singles don’t grab me. I’ve got faith this will be good though.
  21. I think all of these variants look - or at least sound - like great choices. I tip my hat to whoever chose them since they all seem fit. Don’t really need a second copy of this thing but I’m struggling to resist the siren call of that silver-blue merge. Especially if it turns out half as nice as the WATR color-in-color.
