Lots of truth right here. By no means do I mean to piss on your parade - since I think we can all agree that the print looks phenomenal in the frame you picked out - but do you mind if I ask where you purchased it? $24 seems outrageous for a 12" x 12" frame with that kind of trim. I've seen identical versions - of great quality - sold for $12 tops around here. I'm just wondering where you got gouged, or if there's anything extra fancy you failed to mention. (Archival or anti-glare glass, etc.)

Say it ain't so. That one's pretty high on my wish-list of what I've ordered. There were 2 remaining in stock when I ordered -- though that doesn't mean anything at all.

I could be wrong, but weren't the very first responses to the quality of this repress - that is, the way it sounds - in reference to the red copies? I'm sure there are copies of the /666 that play immaculately... you just don't hear about them because they're all in frames or currently on eBay.

That update is a glorious thing. It's been a long while.

After sitting down with an intent listen of this, last night, I have no quarrels with dropping $42 on it. Especially if the variant turns out to be half as snazzy as the description reads.

I read that it clocks in at around 49 minutes. I think a 12" is in order, for sure.

I think that's pretty funny, too, actually. Obviously "post-rock" has become such an umbrella-genre; the catch-all for anything that's instrumental and longer than your typical chart topper. I use it pretty loosely, and I never assume that I know what sound someone is trying to describe when they throw that term down. But the artists who get bent out of shape over that label are hilarious. Mogwai - arguably one of the defining bands for the genre - still insist that they're anything but it. They constantly refer to their music, explicitly, as not "post-rock". But when you've been a band since the 90s, and 95% of your fanbase has given (and continues to give) you a label... at that point, why bother fighting it?

Yeah, really. This is the biggest gripe I can consider, with the whole "surprise! -- this is actually unlimited approach that they took. Not the plummeting flipability, nor the decreasing spike in rarity... but the fact that a ton of sales were stolen from local record shops. Pretty dumb.

Got a confirmation e-mail on my final remaining orders today. I took a page from all you cool kids and checked the weight on them; even though I received zero cancellation e-mails, the largest of the three actually weighs the least. Oh well. Should be fun to see what shows up.

Damn shame. I really thought we could hit 200, too.

To be fair, "/800" is right in the topic title. Regardless of context, 99% of your average VC browsers would assume it's limited to 800, I think.

Sorry, man. I ended up placing the order last night. True. But technically, this bit is a little deceptive: Especially when other records depict the actual color, there. However, the text in the product description reads that it's on red vinyl. And it always has, for as long as I can recall.
