this might get interesting, yfw on white, deja, and tdag on black and a few other colours

Pretty sure the red press is Triple Crown, despite the guy's description. Just had to throw that in there.

Either way. It's definitely an... interesting approach to unload BN vinyl. All he needs is an exorbitant BIN.

  2. Yes.

Based off the Facebook photo and previous album pressings, I'm predicting...

    300 black with white marble.

    700 black and white split.

    1000 white.

The "white" may be an off-white or creme, to match the cover. Kind of tough to guess. Not overly concerned about the variants or press info, though. As long as this thing sounds good, words can't express how enthused I am to hear it. I don't think I've given the MP3s a rest since the date of purchase.

  3. I hear you. Kind of in the same boat, myself - saving left and right, and trying to only focus on smart buys. $18 for a x2 LP is pretty respectable, I feel... especially if it may [or may not] be a hassle to get a hold of, down the line.

But none of the variants seem to be currently sold out, either... I wonder how long they'll last.

  4. I've been wanting this album on vinyl since I got into the band. Extremely tempting, especially because this might be the only chance to get color vinyl. I'm curious about the blue/white vinyl as well, but it sounds the best of the three (assuming blue is standard clear blue).

I do thoroughly enjoy this album, but I don't think it has completely sunk in quite yet. (More reason to pick up a copy and give it repeated listens.) With that said... assuming it really is a single press of 150, and that you truly are broke, I wouldn't mind adding a second copy to my cart for you. You could pay me back whenever, if money is currently as tight as you're saying it is.

  5. Is this a "Let's see how well vinyl sells and then repress this" thing or a "Let's make a tiny press run just to be dicks"?

Wondering this. Maybe it's just me, but a lot of people seem to be on board with this band. A total press of 150 seems pretty crazy - I'm assuming they'll be doing a first press to test the waters.

That being said, I also wonder what constitutes a "blue-white mix". Sounds kind of vague... but potentially awesome. And despite not being a huge fan of white vinyl, I think it would really work with this release. Something about the cleanliness of the cover and its colors. I don't know. Sitting on the fence with this one.

  6. " ::) "

    she hooks it up man!

she threw me out until i had kids, and now she wants to be super grandma.

    fine by me.

Hah, nice. I was just harassing you for kicks; you may as well take advantage of savings, especially if you've got a family bundle going on. I own an iPhone myself... and even with a work-discount, it's still an ugly bill to pay on a monthly basis.

Not to derail this topic or anything. I wish you the best of luck in finding something stable, Holtergeist. I'm constantly facing a fluctuation in hours, and I imagine that you (and many others) can relate to that kind of stress. I'm super grateful to have a job in this economy - especially considering the town I'm in, and the opportunities it presents - but some months are indeed rough.

I've never lived on a couch, nor have I had friends live on mine. I did, however, spend a year dorming with a friend. The dorm was a single room - two beds, two desks, and a bathroom around the corner. I definitely want to echo everyone who suggested that leave of absences are a great idea. And it sounds like that's definitely doable, with your girlfriend and what not. I'm sure you'll bounce back on your feet in no time. Regardless, I'll cross my fingers for you.

  7. I did the same, sold this one about 6 years ago due to some financial trouble. I acquired my first copy for free from a local shop in Sac. I sold it for $190 and this was 6 years ago so that amazed me. Selling it was the last thing I wanted to do, but I had to make rent and lost one of my jobs at that time. Thankfully, I picked it up again about a year ago because someone had a buy it now on ebay for only $50.

Sold it six years ago, for $190? And then purchased it a year ago for $50? I don't know whether that's more random or awesome, to be honest. Glad to hear you got one back.
