  1. This thread gets bumped for all the wrong reasons.
  2. Mine just showed up - green and creme. I'll be taking whichever my friend doesn't want. Fingers were crossed for a maroon, but I'm not complaining.
  3. To each their own. It's obviously your money and only you should be concerned with how it's spent. The only argument someone could bring up is along the lines of "supporting the flippers", and contributing to RSD being the train-wreck that it has become. Just a mere observation on my end. No idea how much Deja is fetching these days, but now you've got me curious.
  4. Hah. Very well said. To be fair... my comments were made in jest, for the most part. The only aspect that bothered me was the attempt at hoarding. The intention of buying all four copies if she could have, you know? I know she's a huge fan of Dallas, and that the release is super limited, but... why would anyone need to grab all of the available copies? It's cool that she bought her friend a copy or whatever. But using said friend's baby for justification is a little sketchy. Far be it from me to ridicule that, though. To add my $0.02 to what a lot of people have said - I don't think that there's necessarily anything wrong with your first record or two being purchased prior to a turntable. I'm certainly "guilty" of that; I grabbed a few [common] records for cheap, years ago, and it was a few months before I decided that it'd be cool to listen to them. It happens. I'll even admit that I initially framed one of them, in shrink and all. Wanna'fightaboutit? But I'm grateful I went that route, obviously, since I've come to love vinyl over the years. Collecting and playing them, that is. I have a friend who owns an entirely mint collection: he loves tracking down his favorite albums, so long as they're available today. He keeps them unplayed [and sealed if applicable], as well. He hasn't sold a single one, as far as I know - he says that he may someday play them, or pass them on to his future kids, but for the time being... he just has a passion for collecting. And I see nothing wrong with that, I guess. Especially since he's not "on the ball" enough to get in on the super limited releases or variants. (Vague tangent, for those folks who are immune to tl;dr syndrome. At what time does it become "cool" or respectable for people to keep a record mint? I've seen Youtube videos of people with an impressive collection of dated vinyl, still in the shrink. And they receive praise for maintaining such a pristine library of releases. They get no flack for never opening the albums, but rather, they're considered hardcore collectors. Just wondering how long that takes; 10 years? 20? Surely, there comes a time when you can shake off the dirty flipper title and suspicions.) Those are my thoughts. As a lot of people have said - and said well - no one should be "entitled" to own a record over anyone else. I'm glad that this chick isn't flipping the record, but at the same time, I still can't respect her hoarding intentions.
  5. Define "decent BIN price on eBay". Totally interested in hearing how much you gave in. Only if you don't mind sharing.
  6. Someone should punch that flatfooted lady right between her bouncy boobs.
  7. "Fuck, my god damn fucking life." Said after the fact she was lucky enough to buy one, and disgruntled with an inconvenience to buy a second copy. Wow.
  8. Refunded for giving into flipper fees? Big dreams, man.
  9. Gotcha'. I was under the impression that the vinyl color only matched the "interior" of the house / gatefold. I'd be interested to know if this thing came sealed, too. Seems like it'd be quite the feat to shrinkwrap such an elaborate jacket.
  10. So I assume that they're sealed, with a variant sticker of some sort on the front?
  11. Actually, I know I have a double of one of the singles. I think it's Natural Born Farmer, but don't quote me on that. A mint copy that I was saving for trading - if I can find it, I'll gladly sell it to you at face value.
  12. May be worth a shot. I expect that a trade will work best, to be honest. Paying straight cash for that 7" would be brutal. I really don't foresee you having to spend too much, though, outside of AGJGTH. Even after the smoke has settled from the Glassjaw 7" craze, it still seems to fetch a disgusting amount of cash on eBay. Hopefully someone gives you a generous break. Just keep digging and searching - you're bound to find it at a price you can afford. And have you skimmed the Worship & Tribute thread as of late? I haven't kept up with the last few pages, but I recall a lot of people offering to sell extra black copies at face value. Could be worth a glance.
  13. So to wrap up my recent transactions - and reiterate their awesomeness - McPherson123, gkersey, and boudreau117 all went out of their way to help me out with RSD 2011. Each of them sold me one of my wants - at face value - and did a superb job with packaging. All of them shipped very quickly, and were extremely pleasant to communicate with. I can't thank them enough. Backed, backed, and backed.
  14. Good luck with this. Genuinely. Not aiming to sound facetious, but your best bet is finding a Glassjaw fan who desperately needs a new kidney. I wish you the best of luck with your hunt. I'd like to help you out, but alas. I'll keep an eye out for these and bump your thread, at the very least.
  15. And another shout out to gkersey for his spontaneous RSD generosity, superb packing job, and timely shipping. Can't express how grateful I am.
  16. Beautiful. The colors sound pretty decent, as well. I have a feeling this will be quite the package. Three quick questions; Availability. Is the press quantity on this rather high? Will there be a scramble to grab one? Is a $20 - $25 price tag realistic? How long will it take for these to ship out, from the pre-order date? Stoked, regardless. Definitely curbs my itch to track down a RSD copy.
  17. Can't speak for everyone, but I'm pretty damn content with $45. And $45 flat, no less. No sales tax, free shipping... really no room to complain, I'd say.
  18. McPherson123 is also the man. He helped out with an extra RSD release, and delivered it with some of the best packaging I've ever seen. Great communication, and even kept his cool when our Paypal transaction initially hiccuped. There are a few others that are helping me out with RSD releases. They'll get their credit as soon as my items arrive. Solid communication and quick shipment leads me to believe I'll be quite content with them, too.
  19. Really? I can respect opinions that differ from my own, but I really don't feel as if there's a single bad or forgettable track on that album. It took me a while to get into, but there's some magical about its dark atmosphere. I don't think I could pick a "weakest" Deftones release - since I love each album for separate and distinct reasons - but if I absolutely had to rank their discography, SNW would be nowhere near the bottom. I never understood why more people couldn't dig it.
