I must have stumbled into the sour grapes thread.

I snagged the VU box and it's shipped. If someone wants to trade for the Marvin Gaye box, I'd be interested. I have these VU releases separately.

According to a friend who owns a record store, the Merge rep told him that this is definitely the last repress of this album. Due primarily to how difficult it was over the last two years (!) to negotiate this reissue, in addition to insistence from Merritt that it's not going to happen again. I know that many of us wondered how it could take so long for Merge to sell out all 1,000 copies, but it sounds like the preorders came in at such a quick clip that they decided to print 4,000 instead. Though I'm not sure if all of those are color vinyl sets or not. In any case, my set looks and sounds fantastic.

I was really hoping that I could buy this on sale yesterday, but no dice. Though I think I spent enough over at Numero, at this point, so I'll have to live with what I have.

Somebody else posted this at the (non-Amazon) Deals thread, but I thought I'd share here. All Numero releases that were pressed prior to 2015 are on sale at wholesale--until August 31. Some excellent deals here! http://www.numerogroup.com/

Clearly using a Spin Clean before this vacuum wouldn't hurt, and would only help.

So glad they reissued these. Nice to have clean copies. Though I will say, while technically true, calling this box limited and numbered doesn't mean a whole lot when there are 8,000 copies. So don't feel in a rush to pick this up, if you need time. It'll be around.
