  1. I saw the mobile, rolling, TMR record store truck thingy last night at the Jack White show in Pittsburgh. Pretty underwhelming. A food truck with a menu of vinyl I've been able to purchase online forever and few pieces of merch that were also available within the show.

To be fair, maybe they have some exclusive stuff at times. But they didn't at around 6pm last night.

Free tote bag if you spend $100!

Mine was top notch quality, but the 7 inch sounded mehhhh. Some of the best quality pressings in SWAPS from my ears are Panda Bear and Nils Frahm if you are into any of those. Both are unique to VMP (45RPM remaster for Panda; alternative album cover for Nils). I'll also prop up The Books and Main Source if you want to try something a bit different in regards to experimental or 90's rap.

I love the Main Source album. I'd never listened to them. If you're into ATCQ or De La Soul, you'll love them.

I'm uncertain what to swap for this month.  I already have the De La Soul, Fiona Apple, and Notorious BIG.  I was thinking about swapping for The Fugees because the packaging looks like it will be really nice.  Anyone have a copy that can confirm it's a nice pressing?

Mine sounds fine. I haven't listened to the 7" yet.

  4. Any idea what makes the RSD Car Seat Headrest release different from the pressing available on Amazon and elsewhere?

Edit: Ohhhh....   so the RSD release is the original from when he was 19, and the releases on Amazon and elsewhere are the updated reworked versions?

Probably will bail on those Tom Waits lps at 32$ a piece. 100$ for 3 records doesn't sound like a good time.

Agreed and disappointed. I'd really like them, but that's too much.

Maybe they'll reissue them, the dealsonvinyl guy will post to the Amazon Deals thread, and I'll get them for like $11 each.

If anyone knows where I can get a boot of QOTSA - Songs for the Deaf I'd appreciate it! I hadn't even consider looking for one until stumbling into this thread.

Search eBay. There are usually a couple copies up for grabs.

This guy on there support is ridiculous.. I already corrected him on something else as well so I am not even surprised.. Thanks though, i'll shoot one more email now that he is obviously wrong again.

I also swapped for Guru successfully. Guru is limited to 2000 (I think). Is it possible that many folks swapped? That'd be nuts.

Finding first generation Sennheiser Momentums on eBay for under 40$... seems like a steal. Some of them are missing the cable, but you can find those on Amazon for a few bucks.

It's odd that there are 160 sold when it's preowned. Where did this seller get 160+ used headphones? And the condition listed for them kind of scares me. I get it. They're operable, and the damage is cosmetic. But I don't want to roll the dice on a huge gash in the side of something I'm regular going to wear on my head.

Do you have any idea what's up these deals? I appreciate you sharing.

  10. I just finished Theft by Finding: Diaries by David Sedaris. Simply put, if you enjoy Sedaris, you'll like it. The most intriguing aspect for me was the progression of his career, but I also looked forward to significant dates in history to see if he'd comment on the event.

Now, I'm reading the Trump book by Wolf and Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. They have some eerie similarities.

  11. To say the Pirates have betrayed me or any of their fans by trading McCutchen and Cole is incorrect. Any Pirate fan has been through this before. Over and over again. Decades of rebuilding. They didn't betray us. The Pirates did exactly what they've done for the past almost thirty years.

I think the glimmer of hope due to the couple wild card appearances recently made the current deconstruction of the team sting a little more.

Of course the Pirates traded away their best. Nutting, the owner, doesn't want to win. He wants to make money. And this deconstruction stung enough that I'm not giving any more money. I'm heading to some minor league games this summer instead. They have cheaper beer too.

    Venting over. Thanks for reading.
