  1. Hey I'm sometimes bad at posting on messageboards. Blah Blah Blah. We just released this LP yesterday. I love it a lot. This is what someone else said about it: SPOOK HOUSES’ debut LP delivers low-fi slacker indie rock loaded with the energy of the band’s rambunctious punk roots and is an album surely to be accessible by angsty american suburban teenagers or nostalgic lovers of 90s basement rock in the vein of Built to Spill and Neutral Milk Hotel. The aptly named, Trying will be released on August 14th in association with Evil Weevil Records (12″ vinyl), Double Double Whammy and Chill Mega Chill Records (cassette) on August 14th. Formed in 2010, SPOOK HOUSES is the product of high school friends, Colin Alexander, 20, and David Benton, 21 in the Manhattan suburban neighborhood of Ridgewood, NJ. Amid some lineup changes, the duo added another high school bud, Alkis Meimaris, 21 (bass) and SUNY Purchase classmate Nick Cobro, 22 (drums). The newly finalized quartet spent 2011 self-releasing the Home EP and sharing the bill with the likes of Real Estate, Screaming Females, Beach Fossils and Twin Sister. This ain’t no pilgrim band. If you want to order a copy head over to our bandcamp page or download it for free through the band's bandcamp here. We have more stuff on our actual shopping cart page here. Thanks a lot Bill
  2. Sure I don't think I've ever been there. Did you guys go to Neshaminy?
  3. Record is reallllly great. We are taking care of the bands mailorder while they are away. Everything is going out next day. The Big Scary Monsters pressing is a different European press. I wish the other Everyone Everywhere would change their name.
  4. Sick! I'm glad you are excited. We are so pumped to get this weekend going! 2 weeks!
  5. Poster and more info Hello, We are the Road To Ruin Festival organizers and here is the most up-to-date information for the festivities. Everything is scheduled to begin at 7:00pm on April 20th in Philadelphia. The venue is to be announced. But we are gonna rock it so hard with some of our favorite bands and best friends! Kicking it off with our friends Very Happy, and going into the mighty mighty LVL UP. Our old friends from Nashville, Tennessee Diarrhea Planet making their Philadelphia return! Our very dear and old friends Everyone Everywhere will follow. Next up we have one of the best rock groups out there today Iron Chic will bring all the anthems. To close out the first night of what is sure to be a semi memorable weekend Algernon Cadwallader will take the stage to make sure everyone is left without a voice and soaked in sweat! We are going to give you approximately 12 hours to recuperate and then we are going to kick off at 12 noon on April 21st at the castle of rock the 23rd Street Armory (22 S 23rd St) with a little shindig thrown by our MCs of rock the 91.7 WKDU DJs. First band is scheduled to hit the stage at 1PM. CHIKARA are scheduled to wrestle two sets through out the day. This is a punk show with a few wrestling performances. We are huge wrestling fans and we always thought Road To Ruin sounded like it could be a PPV and when we had the opportunity to add CHIKARA we jumped on it. Please look these guys and gals up because they KILL it. We'll have everyone from Richmond's Give, New Jersey's Night Birds, and The Front Bottoms and then of course some of our FAVORITE Philadelphia bands The Menzingers, Tigers Jaw, The Holy Mess and The Eeries. We'll even have some old friends like Big Eyes who now call Seattle home. Please see poster for full line up! Saturday is going to be full of surprises and good times. You'll probably see some bands you've never heard of and some bands you love. But we want everyone to come out and have a great time. Sunday as we've been saying is going to still be a great show but on a much smaller scale. It will be held at the same venue that we did our first Road To Ruin fest last year. The Fire. We'll be kicking Sunday off with a FREE bar-be-que. And we are still working on the full line up for the gig. But you'll be seeing bands such Rational Animals, Deep Sleep, and then of course our little Evil Weevil Records showcase and record release extravaganza. We'll release the Night Sins 12" EP, Stable Boys 7" EP, and Spook Houses cassingle for their new LP. There will be loads of free stuff, give aways, and more of a party atmosphere. This is what we hope to accomplish the weekend of Road To Ruin. Its about friends, music and just having a good time. There will be a lot of stuff going on and we hope everyone is able to come and have an enjoyable time. Thank you to everyone for your continued support as we book this crazy weekend.
  6. HEY TICKETS ARE NOW ON SALE ROADTORUINFEST.BIGCARTEL.COM
  7. We are working on getting together a list of houses or something people can crash at. But there are cheap hotels in the philly area out by the airport and the big day is located next to a parking garage. Tickets should be up in the next few days. We are only selling 100 weekend passes.
  8. Everyday is SICK. But Saturday is the BIGGEST day. Its stacked. Friday is Algernon, Iron Chic, Everyone Everywhere, LvL Up and Diarrhea Planet, Sunday is more of what Road To Ruin was last year, like a label showcase.
  9. Hello Everyone, So its the 12th of February and we wanted to announce some more Road To Ruin information. We are so stoked to clue you guys in on some of this stuff. We worked very hard to bring you something that Mike and I could be very proud of at the end of the day. We asked bands that we wanted to see play, or bands that haven't played Philly in awhile or ever before and honestly just our best friends. So here goes nothing: I'm very excited to announce that we will be doing the wrestling portion of our show with CHIKARA. CHIKARA are based in the Philadelphia area and are one of the most unique and entertaining wrestling organizations in the world. They are putting together a really great show for everyone. We are aware that this could be the first time a lot of people have seen a wrestling show so why not bring you some of the best! We'll let you know the card over the next few weeks but its going to be very great. 10. Tank Crimes only released the tape version of the 7" we put out! Its because Mark plays in Seasick and Kicking Spit who both released stuff on that label.
  11. Hey HUGE announcements to be released on February 5th. Hope to see y'all there!
  12. I actually posted this before but I always post at odd times. We have some COOOOL stuff to announce in the next few weeks. We are working with Maven from CZW to book our wrestling show. Eric come and play.
  13. Added Creepoid, The Holy Mess, and Nuclear Santa Claust. We'll be adding a ton more over the next few months. We found a gallery that is letting us do a pop up shop the week of the fest as well as show a few docs, and a few shows under the umbrella of Road To Ruin. Heck of a week.
