  1. GOT a Locrian - Return to Annihilation on clear also, Jucifier - If Thine Enemy Hunger US Christmas - Run Thick In The Night Titan - Sweet Dreams
  2. Yodok III - The Sky Flashes, The Great Sea Yearns 2LP arrived to me from Mr Serries the other day. Mesmorising work, almost 'post-rock' in nature. The percussion adds even a DEP-influenced math element to the proceedings. It's very great. Listen to some here: https://newwaveofjazz.bandcamp.com/album/yodok-iii Here to buy: http://1185600.mijnwinkel.nl/LPTF138.html
  3. that's good news! glad .fr is fixing up their packaging. i did leave some very unsatisfactory feedback for the purchase. hell, they may have actually read it!
  4. It is farking awesome eh! Sounds brilliant too. Stoked City I nabbed one of the fancy colour versions. Set The Controls for The Heart of the Sun over the C and D is killer.
  5. BE VERY WARY buying from amazon.fr I bought the Rave Tapes boxset from them, shipped to Australia. All they did, ALL THEY DID was slap a postage label on the cellophane wrap that covered the box. I almost had a heart attack when i collected it from the post office. it came without any damage. biggest phew ever. EDIT: you guys that have bought one - be prepared....
  6. Closing down due to lack of interest. Everything half price until its gone. I am accepting cheeky offers on Make an Offer items, so offer away. Place yr order via discogs but don't pay. I'll send an invoice with the corrected amount. Postage not included, but I'll work out the cheapest way possible for you. Pick up from southern Brisbane region or Gold Coast Airport available to negate postage costs. http://www.discogs.com/seller/TheArchipelagoRises/profile?sort=artist%2Casc
  7. $28.19 here. not available yet though. http://www.importcds.com/Search/Guided/toundra
  8. Mamiffer appear on the Wvndrkmmer cassette compilation Small Doses released, but I dont know whether Aaron played on it. There's nothing in any credits on the release itself that confirms or denies. http://www.discogs.com/Pyramids-Wvndrkmmer/release/2287836
  9. More delays for indie vinyl runs then. Another back-catalogue that doesn't need reissuing clogging up the pressing plants. Got nothing against Rush, would rather just have new, relevant stuff being pressed.
  10. Great news with that split with Lost Trail. I have a CDr of theirs available in my distro, released through Twice Removed Records here in Australia. http://thearchipelagorises.bigcartel.com/product/lost-trail-an-elegy-and-a-mirror-cd I did ask Gavin at Twice Removed if he would consider doing vinyl releases for his new label 'The Long Story Recording Company' but he certainly wasn't confident about doing them. Maybe you might ask? Might sound good through a Sonic Meditations release, or Experimedia, or even Blue Tapes who i mentioned in a previous post, who are just now branching out into vinyl.
  11. a few FAQs from a lathe pressor-type guy: http://www.2208records.blogspot.com.au/p/blog-page.html
  12. Blue Tapes, out of the UK, is now delving into vinyl. First up on their X-Ray vinyl sub-label is Tashi Dorji's 'Blue Twelve' LP. https://bluetapes.bandcamp.com/album/x-ray-one-blue-twelve-lp X-Ray Two features Pour La Plaisir contributing 'Tin Machine EP' https://bluetapes.bandcamp.com/album/x-ray-two-tin-machine-ep-2
  13. Hazards were really good. As were Jakob Great show, great value at $25 a ticket. Cannot fault the night.
  14. We'll be in the Rumpus Room if yr in town. Come down for a yarn and maybe buy a rek
  15. DL110 arrived this morning. Tracks VERY well. Played an LP that always had IGD using my Elektra cart, and there's no sign of IDG on the Denon.
  16. What's yr opinions on Dali Concept 1? MIne are pretty good, but I kinda wish there was a bit more oomph. I do run a sub though, and with that extra little help, the soundstage is very nice. http://www.dali-speakers.com/en-US/Loudspeakers-1/CONCEPT-1.aspx
  17. yr a star allenh, thanks for the rundown! I have a volume adjustment module on the receiver that allows each input to have their own 'master' volume level. i shall up the Phono level and down the other components to keep everything even.
  18. This is from Jerry Raskin's Needledoctor site (advertising blurb): To get the maximum enjoyment out of your vinyl collection, check out the DL-110 phono cartridge. Its high output allows you to use it interchangeably with a moving magnet phono input. The DL-110 has a way of getting into the grooves and extracting the information contained therein with total authority. So, I guess that indicates that this cart is fine with your MM input? I do hope so, because the Goldring Elektra cart this DL110 is replacing on my setup is a MM.... I had read somewhere else that someone did pretty much exactly the same exchange with their Rega Planar cart. EDIT: I've actually just fired off an email to Needledoctor to see what sorta clarity they can provide. My receivers manual says that I need a MC head amp or transformer to use this needle. REVIEWS: http://www.needledoctor.com/Denon-DL-110-Cartridge EDIT x 2: The reply I got from Brian at Needle Doctor: Hi, Justin. The DL110 is a high output moving coil, so it doesn't require a step up device. It's meant to be plugged directly into a phono input like the one you've got. It's output is still a bit lower than most cartridges, so your master volume may have to be turned up higher than usual, but it would sound great. Be in touch if you have more questions. So, all good eh. Coupled with allenh's sound advice below, think its a goer.
  19. Just did this yesterday. Thought about the Ortofon Red and Blue to replace my Goldring Elektra cart, went with the DL110. Glad to hear there's some happiness with the Denon. Looking forward to hearing it when it lands.

  23. i'd go a Toxicity too. A Hypnotize/Mezmorize double/triple LP set would be pretty cool too.
