  1. My big question is how did all you Self Defense Family fans fare?
  2. Yeah the $3.50 will have come off of heatdust which is a solid album, the Giles Corey box is definitely worth the extra price, the book is really fantastic (I've technically duplicated the book because I was lucky enough to snag the enemies list cd+book combo before it sold out). Sadly due to the size of the box, the weight and the extra production cost for the book the Flenser will likely never mark it down or include it in their promotion deals. Mine was nearly $90 delivered to the UK and I'll admit I've never regretted paying that much, that album holds a very special place in my heart.
  3. They'll likely never knock much off of the giles because of the massive cost i assume it took to get the set manufactured.
  4. Flenser are doing 20% off everything in store til Monday with the exception of Giles Corey & Pre-orders with the code "DOGSDONTPAYTAXES" Get ya kvlt on guys
  5. Not sure if it'll be anyone on here's cup of tea but Ronald Records is doing a series of mystery vinyl grab bags for super cheap so it's really one for the gamblers. I will say I've bought from them before and had them ship internationally and their service is pretty damn good so even though they are little guy might be worth rolling the dice. Their store doesn't seem to have any of their usual stock listed but it does have a link off to the left to their bandcamp which will give you an idea what to expect and apparently the grab bags will also have distro titles. They have in the past handled bands like Crisis Arm and Pallow so i'd expect something shoegazey/lo-fi indie/slowcore. $10 for three 12"s has me considering taking a punt and I'm not even in America. Alongside this they are running a series of promotions for the whole of april. Deets below: We are celebrating our 2 Year Anniversary by having our biggest sale ever at www.ronaldrecords.com! Pick up the following options for only $10: Deal 1: (5) 7" Records! Deal 2: (5) Cassette Tapes! Deal 3: (5) CD's! Deal 4: (3) 12" Records! BONUS DEALS FOR THE MONTH OF APRIL: Spend >$10 = Free Tape Spend >$20 = Free Tape + 7" Record Spend >$30 = Free Tape + 7" Record + 12" Record Spend >$40 = Free Tape + 7" Record + 12" Record + Shirt Spend >$50 = (2) Free Tapes + (2) 7" + 12" + Shirt Spend >$60 = (2) Free Tapes + (2) 7" + (2) 12" + Shirt Everything will be chosen at random from our large collection of label and distro releases! All items included are new and unplayed with no doubles guaranteed!
  6. Same. A few people on here have admitted they dislike the way it looks which is a matter of personal taste and I get that. Then again I'm not an audiophile.
  7. Palehorse in anticipation of their new album "Looking Wet In Public"
  8. I've been trying to persevere with this for a week and I wouldn't give it over a 5.5/10. Saddens me to be anywhere near Cantaloupe Fandango's opinion but this is just a real "meh" of a record for me.
  9. First year I popped in store and asked how it works and when to start queuing. Each store will differ in it's strategy and popularity. The reason I go to the same shop every year is in part due to their brilliant system. Each customer is given a list of all items the store is carrying whilst they queue ( a full list goes online of what they've got coming ahead of time too). As things go out of stock staff members make announcements to the queue. You simply tick off what you want and as soon as you're in you hand them your list and they fill a bag for you. Afterwards your free to stay in the store and check out their regular stock etc.
  10. London is always a dogfight, that's why if you're not there early you might as well not bother. The particular street my favourite shop is on has two or three record stores on it and they close the road and put up a stage in the street. Saw Frank Turner a couple of years back. Atmosphere is nice but similarly a large contingent are only out to get "dad rock" re-issue singles. Crowds and queues stay hours long way into the afternoon.
  11. I took a camp chair and a brand new book managed to squeeze in a couple of hours sleep too. Was 4th in line. I'm feeling the same about this year, I'm probably going to swing by my favourite shop the day after and see what's left behind. Never really a metal crowd so I may find they have the few items I want. If I was a Lush fan I'd definitely be camping out on the street again but thankfully not.
  12. Last year I queued from 9pm the previous night till the shop opened at 8:30am. Had to get that RHP box set. Glad there's nothing I want this year.
  13. These look so much prettier than my solid coloured copies but I just can't justify the expense, I know if I did shell out for them I'd never get round to selling my colour copies...
  14. Not strictly Fall Of Hearts related but the band have announced a special London gig that goes on sale Friday where they will be playing The Great Cold Distance in full followed by an intermission and then another live set mixing in music from their whole discography. Alongside this announcement the band have stated that Peaceville plan on reprinting The Great Cold Distance on vinyl.
  15. nice haul, I got first presses of those lantlos albums figured when they got round to self-titled they'd do another colour one.
  16. Just got my Sonance/Torpor split LP yesterday but haven't got round to spinning it yet.
  17. Nope, Auction ended mid-week at 3am UK time so was outbid by like $5
  18. copped a white copy today at Rough Trade East London. I'm hoping it's a grower because right now I kinda wish I picked up the copy of Koi No Yokan I saw instead.
  19. I'm loving the new track. Also 500 Silver now available exclusively at the bands store: http://www.omerch.eu/shop/katatonia/proddetail.php?prod=omerch_katatonia_HeartsSILVER
  20. Got the box set after fighting with the website for three hours on the day of announcement. I really hope to god the album art isn't actually that minimalist. May get all variants as I'm currently toying with the idea of becoming a Biffy completist.
  21. I may end up being a little more selective where possible as I'm trying to buy a place but I'm sure I'll end up with a tonne by the end of the year. Already got Miserable on pre-order.
  22. I once explained what RSD was to my girlfriend at the time and she was like "You should buy all the things and then sell them on and make a huge profit" so glad I got my record collection out of that relationship safely....
  23. Both auctions should wind up at about 4am in UK time, if I lose either of them then I'll obviously grab this as a consolation prize. I freaking love your label man I reviewed a lot of your output last year on my tumblr blog Captain Of Lies.
